Something not right?

Description

Friendly female care takers. $15 per person including 3 meals (lunch was a healthy dose of plov and bread with jam, dinner was a delicious vegetable soup and pasta-plov.

Hot shower was made by heating water on the stove and it was actually quite a nice, comfortable and clean cabin. Big and bright shower room. Electricity only at night by the generator. Pit toilets across the street are rather nice. We had a nice rest for the day before heading deeper into the Pamir.

Secure area for bicycles. Maybe room for 1 vehicle behind the gate. Otherwise park out front.

Latest Check-Ins

Stayed here for one night. Good homestay, heating rooms, good food and also plenty (for dinner soup and plov, for breakfast eggs, bread, jam and cookies). Also lot of tea. Toilet is outside, but it's clean and doesn't smell. The host speaks a little bit English. We could park our 2 motorcycles inside the property.

Report Check-In

As mentioned good food and a very cosy place with heating and big wash/bucket shower area with heated room to change.
Plenty of chai also.
250 somali
3 meals and some biscuits for afternoon tea
You are at 4000mtrs so it’s was a good price I think.

We stopped here for lunch only: soup, bread, jam and chai (that was delicious) for 70s for x2 people. Nice to have a hot and filling meal on the cold cross to Kyrgyz

Good homestay in Karakol. The room was heated. Pit toilet and warm bucket shower outside. Great dinner and breakfast. But quite pricey. 200 Som for the night and the food. Clean water available.

nice homestay run by a woman who speaks a bit of English. she appears to stay elsewhere but comes over as needed. there is an older man who stays there, and does not speak English. they are both very friendly and attentive. they do indeed have two small beds now. there is a gated parking area that I think could only fit two cars. she kindly made me some soup when I arrived, so I wasn't hungry for dinner and didn't get to try the plov - something tells me this won't be my last opportunity to eat plov. and call me eurocentric, but this was the first real bread I've had in months - it was great! total was 170 some which seems expensive since I didn't eat dinner, but it's pretty remote up there so that's alright.

Really good food (some of the best we had in Pamir) and they also now have beds! We had a comfortable stay here. Paid 140 somoni/person (or $15) including lunch, dinner, and breakfast (we arrived around lunchtime).

Report Check-In

We stopped on our way to the border just for lunch, lured by the comments on the plov. They didn't have it, but instead they had delicious fried potatoes and eggs together with some appetizers and tea. Really friendly owner who speaks good English!

We paid 50 somoni for two people.

Report Check-In

We stayed in our car and had breakfast. Quiet night, friendly owners, good breakfast. Toilets were good.

Report Check-In

For our group of 10 people, they let the price down to 8USD with dinner and breakfast. The gated yard fits two or three normal cars.

Report Check-In

We didn’t stayed here as the won’t accept our dog.

Sadat and her daughter are very nice. We slept in our rooftop tent in the street out front where we could use the clean communal toilets and just paid for dinner (20 somoni each) and breakfast (15 somoni each).
The common area inside has a nice comfi couch to lounge on and to hide from the killer-mozzies outside (this time of year).

Report Check-In

Small brick home with a couple of rooms inside. There are no beds, sleeping is on the floor, but the place is well carpeted and traditional roll "mattresses" are placed on the floor. The pit style toilets are across the way in a separate building, but they are clean and outfitted with Western camodes.

This is one of a number of homestays in the village by the Lake. We booked in just for the food and we parked our Landcruiser outside at no charge. We paid 50 Somoni each for lunch, evening meal and breakfast. So my point is that there is no reason that a truck could not park adjacent to the property.
