Description

Wild camping on a very pretty beach with Scarlett Macaws. Our very first first wild camping experience (7 months into the trip). Lots of level shady spots. Only ones on the beach after dark, quiet night but the policía did drive thru in the middle of the night. Other than the biting ants and no-see-ums this was an incredible experience!

Great camping spot with lots of level places, felt very safe with great internet cellular connection.

Great views and many beautiful birds all around.

Report Check-In

We really liked this place! Only one other car at night and lots of birds.

Beautiful, quite quiet beach. During our visit, a camp of 4 campervans from locals was there, no one else. One of them was a police officer and said it's ok to stay here. We were woken up in the morning by Macaws having breakfast in the tree above us - wonderful.

Very quiet place. I asked the police who were patrolling if we could sleep here, they said yes. The ban is therefore surely only for tents. When we arrived we were greeted by fifteen macaws and monkeys. The walk that runs along the Carara national park by the beach is beautiful, we crossed coatis while being overflown by the macaws.

Indeed there is a sign. No idea how strong this is enforced. We spent the night here, because it was too late to move on. No Problems. The beach is nice. Saw monkeys in the evening and parrots in the morning.

Report Check-In

Great for overnight camping. Quiet and safe according to the locals. We had a few crabs in the evening but if you get away from the leaves no worries.

Report Check-In

Lots of fire ants within 50m radius of garbage cans ):< Keep your eyes on the ground to find a good spot!! Very peaceful and quiet! Warm water

Great spot!! Very nice beach and we felt very safe. There were two other cars that left around 6 and after that we where completely alone.

Didnt see monkeys or crocodiles though.

We stayed there with our tent. At the weekend there were a lot of other campers, but it wasn't loud in the night. During the week we had the whole beach for our own. We felt very safe...
There were scarlett macaws and monkeys around. Very nice experience! :)

Great Spot! All alone on nice and clean beach. Woodfire was lying everywhere, very quiet at night. And the best thing: In the morning there were cappucin monkeys and Scarlet macaws above us... :)

Very nice place to stay and camp. Quiet on Saturday night. Seems very secure. Police check at night. We enjoyed staying here with guacamayas flights on morning.

Report Check-In

We walked here from the other spot further south and it seemed a bit nicer. No businesses or anything but a few more people camping. I'd probably choose this over the other nearby spots

Report Check-In

Awesome public beach area. A little farther down the road from the other option in the area and much larger, with far fewer people around.

Lots of campsites/fire rings around.

Palm trees, scarlet Makaws, and a little troupe of monkeys.

Signs recommend you don't swim here due to very strong currents, but the huge saltwater crocodile we spotted swimming the bay two days in a row seems like a very good reason to stay on the beach as well..

Like the original poster, we did have someone drive past between midnight and 1:30 both nights, not sure if it was the policia or not, but they did not stop and did not bother us.

A few runners, walkers, and a couple atv tours went by during the day, but very quiet other than that. Not baja, but not bad! :)

Report Check-In

Nice little cove. Plenty of camping spots under trees. The scarlet macaws are still here and very active, sitting in trees above our campers. Trash cans available which was nice not to haul our trash out. Some ATVs rolled through, 1 hiker, and couples walking dogs. We saw a giant crocodile swimming in the water, and monkeys as well. Cool place and free!
