Latest Check-Ins

Stayed here on the way to vegas. Nice spot, pull off direct from the highway after a hill, you will see the gate once you crest the small hill around the highway.

No clear spots out of highway visibility, we drove along a ways but ended up looping back to a spot next to a old road that was closed.

Some kind of old mine further along the road but zero traffic while we were there.

Report Check-In

Stopped here to let the dog run around for a while and ended up staying the night. No one else ever drove nearby. Steady roar from the interstate, but pretty chill. Looks like enough people have clipped that fence with their trailer that it’s not an issue anymore lol. Decent Verizon service, had trouble streaming but was able to download then watch.

Report Check-In

Windy, no one else around! Great spot to stop directly off the highway. A’s described through gate and there’s several places to pull over.

Report Check-In

Still there, still easy to access. Little bit of car noise in the distance, but not bad at all.

Report Check-In

As described convenient and quiet. No other campers but it is 30° at night right now! We did not go through the gate and really no noise. Verizon available.

Report Check-In

Everything as described. Nothing has changed.

Report Check-In

Very easy to get to, private, and secure. Within sight of the highway, but very little noise. Was quiet, and mostly clean. A few beer cans, but not bad for what it is (BLM land, apparently). When I was there I only saw one other human being in a pickup truck driving up the dirt road that leads to the site. They didn't even slow down.

Report Check-In

As described a great quiet spot on the east bound side. Reasonably level hard packed ground. Great for a nights sleep.

Report Check-In

as described. gate is held shut with baling wire. just unhook and open. I can see the road but can't hear it. not another person for as far as i can see. pretty views. typical desert scrub and wind. easy to find at night, although no signage so the turn off comes up fast. cell coverage fluctuates from full bars to 2 bars. still can't make the rating change in the app. i would give it 4 stars as an overnight spot and 3 for boondocking/ dispersed camping

Report Check-In

Quiet desert spot. Lots of choices for camping. 2 bars on Verizon. Great for star gazing.

Report Check-In

If you're headed west you absolutely will not cross the road to the other side at this point unless your vehicle has high ground clearance, no chance of doing it in my school bus. Big dip in the middle.

The rest stop just a little bit further down the road maybe 10 minutes is super super nice. gotta love california taxes I guess

Report Check-In

Great place, easy access. Gate is closed but not locked. All the way up the dirt road is a gold mine. There is a friendly caretaker we talked to. We did not visit the mine.

Report Check-In

great spot. there is still construction going on on the road... but keep an eye out for a sign for truck crossing... the area you come to seems good enough to camp but go through the gate. even though it was shut when I got there there is no lock and once through you discover an off road vehicle area. there's acres of areas to camp

Report Check-In

there's new highway lanes being built and lots of construction work around this area. we found this obstructed the entries to the roads that marked in this ioverlander entry. there's other options beyond this spot but be aware that this one is currently tricky to get to. we ended up about 10 miles past it.

Report Check-In

BLM land on both sides of the highway. I tried the north side first and the road is sandy and ends up next to the railroad tracks. South side roads are definitely better but gate is narrow and the road veers left as you go through so watch your trailer. I went to the spot where there is a road that crosses and went up the rise to the left so I could see the mountains. There was a bunch of trash at the tee, I picked up everything except all the broken glass and pvc pipe. You can hear the traffic but you can certainly get away from it and go as far as you like on the road south since it goes as far as you can see.

Report Check-In

Gate was open. lots of space to find a spot for the night. Dog freindly.

Report Check-In
