Nice campsite in Denali NP. Price is really reasonable for this popular area. Tent area is walk-in only, $21,50. Friday in july without reservation, but enough walk-in spots available. Cars park at central parking, motorcycles are allowed to park at the edge of the walk-in area, so still close to your tent. If you want your car or bike at your site, you have to take a regular spot, they are $35. Bearboxes available. Washrooms clean, flush toilets and potable water. Showers at reception, $4,50 for 10 minutes, tokens at reception. Showerbuilding open 7 am-10:30pm. Free WiFi at reception.
About 30 minute walk to shop&restaurant area, Free shuttlebus available, stops at reception and halfway the campsite.
Report Check-InDue to it's convenient location, it is a busy campground. Showers are $4.50. WiFi is available only around the convenience store. Wood is expensive, $10.99.
Report Check-InNP campground, no hookups.
Reservations generally required and suggested. Sites are A, B, C:
A: large vehicles up to 40 feet
B: up to 30 feet
C: tents only, walk-in sites
Pleasantly surprised as liked the campground (had not expected that but wanted to visit Denali), no power area which meant we were 50% camped with off grid types (positive) the other 50% had generators in their RV’s etc. so before 7pm or after 8am those kick in but sort of ok for where we were. Trails are not pet friendly (campsite is) that sucked but still a cool park and well sorted facilities. Felt really touristy which I know is rich as technically we were tourists too, yet area just had that overly commercialized feel.
Report Check-InFairly nice, no electrical hookups. Just far enough from the highway that you can’t hear it.
Report Check-InHalf price camping with a Senior Pass. I’m 95% of the time a boondocker but I enjoyed the quiet and security of this place immensely. Plenty of trails but pretty much absolutely nothing else to do ... it’s like a ghost town due to Covid. And, surprisingly ... terrific cell service!!
Report Check-InFree winter camping. Trash cans were lines, camping spots were plowed, and bathrooms were open at our location. Very nice, and empty!
Report Check-InFree in winter (September to April). Part of the campground and one of the pit toilets remain open in winter although there is no water available. You can fill bottles at the winter visitor center.
Report Check-InVery nice campground for every size of rig or tent.
Fire rings at every site. Pit toilets. Picnic tables at every site.
Free in winter!
Close to the trails and visitor centre.
Wifi, water and indoor picnic place at visitor centre.
Stayed here for 2 nights.
