2020 prices for mokoro day trips: 68 pulas pp (paid in cash in this office) and 240 pulas for the poler guide per boat (paid for the poler guide after the trip in the mokoro station). One mokoro is good for 2 persons and camera gear. The mokoro trip was amazing value, very varied: canoeing 1,5h, break, a bush walk (for as long as you wish in the island to see the animals, we hiked for 2 hours but even 5 h is possible), break/lunch, canoeing back through the same channel 1,5h. You can start at 8AM at the chosen mokoro station (even earlier timing can be negotiated at the spot) and end 4.30PM. We chose Daonara and wildcamped there (you must choose your starting point/village while booking the trip). Be sure to get the right directions, we got lost and struggled to get correct directions from the villages in Delta. Morutsa station is easier to find than Daonara and the drive is easier. Enjoy!

we did a 2 night 3 day mokoro thru the okmct, total cost about 85€ pp. strongly recommend Ditshipeng, deepest site into the delta. tonnes of Elephant, Giraffe, hippo, buffalo, Zebra, impala. hyena and genet came thru our campsite. amazing

We did a 2 day 1 night Mokoro Trip and paid total 772 Pula (68 Pula pppd + 50 Pula pppn Camping fee) + 200 Pula per day for the guide. This did not include any food or equipment. We hired a tent from Kalahari Kanvas. Camped in the village the night before (listed on ioverlander as Isaac’s yard camp before Mokoro) and also left our car park there for the duration of the trip.

On the first day, we were on the Mokoro for about 1.5 hours before we reached the island where we set up. Had the afternoon to rest and practise driving the Mokoro ourselves. In the afternoon we went on a game walk and had sunset on the delta. The guide made a fire at night so we could cook over the fire. The next morning we went for a two hour game walk and then headed back to camp to pack up and make our way back to the Launching station. It was a beautiful experience but you need to tell the guide what you want otherwise you won’t spend much time on the mokoro. We wanted more time on the Mokoro and so we arranged that with the guide.

Regardless of who you book through, the “itinerary” and destination is exactly the same. We met a couple who paid $700USD because they went through a lodge instead of going directly through OKMCT!!! They were so unhappy as they were promised an “ exclusive trip with an island all to themselves”.

The office won’t give you any information. But we recommend you book through them and then head towards Boro and ask for Issac. Cash only payments at both OKMCT and launching station.
