Apple pie is below average now. Their other pastries are better and cheaper.

Came here hoping for some amazing apple pie. It was nice, but nothing special unfortunately. Came here 13 years ago as well, but the quality has gone down after the old owner's passing. Good coffee though and still a nice stopover for coffee and a nice pastry. Service could be improved too, but that is almost everywhere we have been to.

I stopped here 30 year's ago, since then I am dreaming from this Apple pie cake ( Apfel Streusel Kuchen)
specially after many day's in no where it's a perfect oasis. Also to have a coffee from a proper Italian coffee machine is nice.
The "Wild Life" is also interesting so many different species:-) to watch.

Cafe van der Lee took over from the Bakery (now closed after the passing of the owner). Still a great apple pie! The coffee is really good also.

We had a delicious lunch and the waiter was very concerned about our opinion. The people were very nice! Only the coffee is better at the little store next door.

Don't stop here.
It's still a petrol station and a small shop.
The restaurant is only with self service.
The pastry is good and a small menu for lunch is available.
But the place is not worth for a stopover

Not sure if it’s a reflection of Covid or Moose’s passing, but this place isn’t what it used to be when we first came 10 years ago. OK stopover for coffee and snack. Probably fine for lunch too as long as you arrive early. When we arrived for a lunch stop at 14:00 we were told that the only food available was a meat pastry. There was literally no other food they would serve us. Bit surprised and disappointed to be honest.

The name is McGregor’s Bakery. Great apple pie. They sell also wholemeal bread.

Indeed, good apple pie! Solitaire is a cute tiny village in the middle of the desert. Perfect for a break after a long drive.

Others have said the apple pie is not as good as it used to be. I thought it was yummy and well worth a stop. Cafe latte, americano and one apple pie serving: 120 NAD.

Yes, apple pie is great! Also bread. You can also ask for drinkable water at bakery, they have filters and can fill up your bottle.
Outside there is also a tank but good only for washing, what I was told.
There is also free wifi available, ask for password at reception.

Amazing bakery! Great place for a short break from the road. Seriously try the Apple Pie! It is delicious.
