Nice, beautiful and silent after mill closes for the night. Donation based.
General Store right next to the camp site.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice little community campground. Walking distance to the general store. Make a donation if you stay, even though it’s not required it’s appreciated. The caretaker is very nice. He came by while we were there to unlock the firewood. Next to a sawmill, which shuts down at 6 so it was quiet afterwards. Only noise was a baseball game that parents were cheering on their kids. Once the game was over it was silent
Report Check-InLove this campground! Archie came by and was gracious and welcoming. The grounds are very well cared for. The firewood shed is full and generous. The general store next door has the freshest produce I’ve seen in a long time, with an incredible selection of any other provisions you could want or need.
A nice hike trail from the camp.
Dry camping.
A little uneven ground and maybe tight for some if it was busy. I’m currently the only camper.
Also, anyone can park in the lot across the road, too. Plenty of open area for a bigger rig there.
Really grateful for this!
Nice place with kitchen cooking shelter for rain. We parked next to it. Firewood shed was locked. One toilet open but the seat is crawling with these little maggots that look like leaves. Road still audible. 1-2 bar lte telus
Report Check-Innice spot, you can camp for 3 consecutive days by donation. Outhouse & hand pump water if you trust it enough to drink..
Report Check-InGreat place to stay in the shadow or sun. Water from the pump at site. Boil one minute for potable water. Please donate to the volunteers for their great work.
Report Check-InArrived around 8:00 pm thinking it would be packed. One other rig here so lots of room. Very quiet. Clean. Very nice offering by the community. Will donate for stay. Thanks.
Report Check-InVery nice campground! It’s donation based.
Free firewood, a pump with fresh water and pit toilets.
The care taker is really nice.
Donate some $$ here. Even if it’s not much. It helps cutting the lawn :-)
As described by others, by donation, lovely volunteers who care for the campground. There’s a covered shelter as well as tables & fire rings at each site.
Interesting old machinery lines the road & there’s a geocache very close by if you’re looking for a quick activity (&2 others not too far away). Battle Hill national historic site is also within a couple kms.
It was a nice, quiet, comfortable stay for the night 🙂
nice and relaxing on Sunday,
friendly locals
grass was short and dry this time, no mosquitos,
there is a can recycling bin, firewood by donation
As described, clearly marked as free for three days. Sites generally look level, and there is a lot of shade (which is handy as we're in a heat wave). Plenty of free wood, and the mill seems to be closed on Sunday (afternoon) as far as we can tell, so it is quiet!!! 😁
Report Check-InSmall wooded area with about 10 spots. Picnic tables, fire pit and pit privy
Report Check-InGreat place to stay.
Noise from the mill and very less traffic noise.
Good maintained and clean camping.
Each Donation helps.
Nice little campground. Free firewood.
Pit toilet clean and odorless. A volonteer came while here to check them out. Donation box. Noisy with the wood mill just next to the campground.
This place is maintained by volunteers and so it may not look totally well maintained. The grass is too tall and the tables aren’t the cleanest. The pit toilet is on the threshold of getting scary if it does not get cleaned soon. It does smell. There is free firewood and an axe for use-pretty neat IMO. The campground has a max of 3 day stay and it is free - there is a donation box. Water is non-potable. No other amenities. Overall, a pleasant campground for a night or two.
Report Check-InLovely spot in the cute little town. Felt safe, and it’s 30 seconds from the shop. No water anywhere however, had to go to the RV park for that. Cell reception! Very noisy in the morning however with the mill and rail line.
Report Check-Inclean and free to use for 3 nights
concrete tables and fire pits
toilets are clean and no smell.
shady and has 7 spots
donation box
Still free, but you can give a donations.
Free firewoods.
We open the tent under the roof.
Very nice small municipal CG. Archie saw us driving into town and made sure we knew it was OK to park at turnout across the street from the CG. When I asked if he was Archie he looked surprised and asked how I knew. I told him he was an internet celebrity and left it at that. Occasional little peep whistles what I assume was from wood mill, had more noise from trains and cars driving past but nothing annoying.
Report Check-InLovely spot, as described. Breezy. Free fire wood- bring your axe! Mill operating near by- but doesn’t bother us. 8-10 sites.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay for a couple nights. The mill sound stopped around 8ish. Had a good nights sleep. Met the volunteer manager of the place. He said big rigs can also go across the road from the campground where the picnic tables are, it’s the same property. And yes free wood! Clean pit toilet, well taken care of. Good LTE Telus
Report Check-InNice quiet park, clean with some levels sites. We pulled in and we’re completely level.
Report Check-InNice little campground. Free. Free firewood. Clean. Archie who manages the site is super friendly. So are the people at the store right next to the site.
Report Check-InJust so lovely. Quiet. Clean pit toilet. Only store in the little place selling everything! Fire pits, wood available. Visitors book. Just perfect and we even got a signal for school work!
Report Check-InSuper endroit ! Avec toilettes, coin pour le feu, table. Free, sur donation.
Report Check-InVery well maintained small campsites in Centennial park, close to general store. Non potable water hand pump. Free stay for three days and free firewood. Very clean pit toilets. Garbage bins and recycling bin. Some road noise and noise from the mill, but gets pretty quiet later into the night. A couple of short walks/hikes nearby, just ask Archie!
Report Check-InNot big rig friendly. Beautiful little campground with lots of trees make it difficult to park a big RV. Since we arrived after dark, we didn't even attempt to squeeze our 28 foot motorhome into a site so just drive through and found a roadside spot for the night.
Report Check-InFree three days of camping a
with firewood, donations welcomed as well. beautiful site near store and toilet. picnic shelter for those rainy days
good place to hang for a night. free . met some locals said it's free for 3 days! no service . no mosquitoes 😬😬😬
Report Check-InGreat peaceful site with clean pit toilets and free firewood. No noise while we were here on the long weekend. 3 other sites occupied. Free or make a donation.
Report Check-InThis place is far away from being quiet and silent! The loud saw mill closed after 10pm, and there is more noise from the road nearby!
Report Check-InPerfect place very quiet. Free fire wood. Campsite on donations.
Report Check-InAs per the previous reviews - clean, quiet site. Still free (donations appreciated)
Report Check-InFree camping. Free wood with axe provided. Donations welcome.
We were not supposed to come here (Twin Falls was closed for the week), so I was positively surprised after seeing the site.
Picnic tables, pit toilets, fire rings and garbage bins. No water.
Did not hear the mill.
As previously described - clean, quiet, pit toilets (I though the hissing hinge was a snake! Lol), free wood +splitter and cell coverage. Awesome!
Report Check-InAmazing little place for free or donation. Spoke with the gentleman who mostly takes care of this place and he was a gem. Free wood. No water. Clean pit toilets. Quiet after the mill shuts down for the night. Felt very safe there. Would definitely return.
Report Check-InNice little City Park, fire rings and picnic tables, out toilets. Stay is limited to 3 days. 6 or 7 sits to park. Yes, it's free. Cell phone service is decent.
Report Check-InNice little, free campground in Kitwanga. You can stay for 3 days, there are picnic tables, firepits, fire wood (when there is no campfire ban), pit toilets, water and a big shelter. sites ar in between trees. the loud saw mill in the neighborhood stops working at 1730. a diner and a groce
