Take your passport with you as they have to take a copy to register you of - the NP is very close to the Azerbajjani border.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
A permit is required to enter Vashlovani National Park, and you can apply here! I recommend to go to Savanna guesthouse first to pick up a copy of the guidebook EXPLORE GEORGIA (detailed map, and information about the best off-road routes in Georgia)
Report Check-InAdvised by Nino we entered the park with our Mercedes-benz T2/Vario (currently only 2x4). Only possible in dry weather and with exception of visiting Mijniskure (too steep/narrow). Really big rigs are not allowed in large parts of the park (see picture). We drove Kasristskali-Pantishara campsite- Pantishara/Eldira road via Bugha Moedani (we saw gazelles) -campsite Vashlovani visitors center - Black mountain- Kvemo kedi (asphalt from there). 2x4 in dry weather only, high clearance and preferably low gear. The road from central ranger station to Black mountain has some steep passages (18/20%) and overhanging trees/bushes (scratches).
Three nights we saw 1 ranger and police at two border posts, but no other visitors. A memorable experience. Enjoy.
Visitor Center is still located here and open. They are closed for lunch between 13:00 and 14:00. We paid a total of 58 GEL for 5 days/4 nights and a map of the park (which is very convenient!). We drove the orange and the green route. To our opinion, the orange route is by far the most beautiful and diverse.
Report Check-InImportant notice - motorcycles are not allowed to enter the park.
Report Check-InWe came here to get a permit for Vashlovani national park. The lady was very friendly and spoke English very well. She told us where to stay the nights at the park and showed us the way to ths station of border police.
Report Check-InHere you can get your permit for the Vashlovani national Park. You need your passports and cardocument.
You've to say in advance how long you gonna stay in the park. Then they make an official document and copies of your passport. With this paper you've to go to the borderpolice to get the stamps.
In the visitor center you've to pay for the entry in the park and for the nights you gonna camp (5GEL pp). This paper you've to keep so you can show the rangers at the campsite that you paid.
Be aware that in the whole park the road is dirtroad ( only 4x4).Some roads are in bad condition. A lot of narrow and winding roads , steep uphill and downhill,so no big rigs .
count enough days to visit the park. We took 5 days to visit the park.
We highly recommend this park. If you like offroad you gonna love this place.
See pictures for the road condition in the park
Parkplatz vor Nationalpark-Info, zum Übernachten geeignet, ohne alles
