Arrived around noon on Friday 9/22, we got the last spot (site #3) available, our 16’ travel trailer and F150 fit nicely. Sure enough, the campground host put up the “Campground Full” sign right after we checked in, so we felt fortunate to get a nice site for the weekend. Friendly hosts, offered to fill our water tank if we pulled to their site, or we could use the water spigot on the campground road (not threaded, but I carry a cheater coupling with my hose). This makes for a great base camp location just above town!
Report Check-InPrices raised to $28 but semi-worth it for the views, water and toilets. Lots of trails accessible from camp sites. 3 bars 5G service. Camp hosts are so nice. Firewood for $10
Report Check-InWe were coming in late and got one of the last remaining tent sites. Pit toilets were clean and had almost no odor. Phenomenal mountain views and great views of Ouray. Close to Box Cañón Falls and Cascade Falls Sites were well spaced and most had forested/shrub barriers between sites so it felt very private.
Report Check-InVery nice place , very nice host, high above Ouray, nice view, very quiet, dry toilet, the host can help fill up water, $26. No T-Mobile signal.
Report Check-InVery nice campground with hosts just as nice. A variety of sites for campers, RVs and tents. Bathhouses with pit toilets located through the campground and a water source at the main bathhouse. We did lock our trash up at night due the warning of bears at night. We didn’t encounter any bears. Perfect location to downtown Ouray. Will definitely come back.
Report Check-InVery pleasant campground with great views. They have walk-in tent sites, pull through sites, and sites for RVs. We were in a pull through.
According to the host there are bears in the area that visit the campground and the picnic area below it. He indicated it is the same bears for the last 6 years. They do not have bear proof lockers, so take appropriate precautions. We did not see any bear.
The pit toilets were reasonably clean and close enough to the sites. Water was potable Ouray city water with a spicket near the main bathhouse.
