Description

About 110 km after San Pedro de Atacama. It's a Natural Reserve with plenty of posibilities to camp. We parked in a dip, because of the wind. No facilitis. Free.

We spent one night here with our VW Kombi so as not to force our way back to Paso Jama. Beautiful spot, it was a peaceful night except for the high altitude which made us feel quite ill. On the other hand, the Kombi was great!

Passamos uma noite aqui com nossa VW Kombi para não forçar no retorno ao Paso Jama. Lindo local, foi uma noite tranquila exceto pela altitude elevada que nos fez sentir bastante mal. Em compensação a Kombi foi ótima!

great place to stop though very windy. look out with a 2WD not to get stuck in the sand and keep to the flat area around the 'lonely finger'

We loved that place! Really windy but such a great view on the laguna and these funny shape rocks. Several spots possible, but with our 2WD van we didn't try to go to far, track is up and down and very sandy. Not visible from the road, almost no traffic. The site isn't that huge, we enjoyed walking around the rocks. Beautiful light early morning and for sunset.

Called ‘Las Monjes’ by the people in San Pedro.
