Argentina
A tiny dot on our road map, we took a chance and decided to check it out. Really great little stop! There is a small museum explaining the petrification process and a short video (English subtitles, most of the museum is in Spanish). Then you do a 1.5k easy walk to see the petrified logs. There are heaps of them, some sticking out of large interesting sandstone formations. Beautiful valley with colourful stratified sandstone hills. We arrived late evening and camped on the side of the road before the gate. The park Ranger drove up and offered us a place inside the park, he was super nice! Possibly a bit drunk. We parked behind the museum. They open at 10 am. No charge.

Beautiful place. Now 3000AR pp. It was open until 8 pm today, Friday which was convenient for us. We asked the ranger and it isn't permitted to camp anywhere on the road from Sarmiento to the park. Nice 2 km trail with lots of logs and painted hills, museum, friendly staff.
Report Check-InStill a beautiful place to visit. About 2km walk so about 1 hour. Pretty views and interesting small museum with a short video ( English subtitles).
$1500pp ars in feb 2023.
Nice ranger with lots of information..
Really nice parque and very interesting. Price for foreigner is 1'000pp, residents 400pp. Super friendly park rangers. The road is pretty good although there is a lot of loose gravel (not he best for motorcycles and bikes).
Report Check-InThis is a duplicate as well as in the wrong place, should be combined with the other Bosque listing at -45.81368, -69.06811. WOW, the wind was insane - we nearly got blown over. This was the strongest wind we've experienced.

Report Check-InSo beautiful and interesting!!! Highly recommended, it's worth a deviation
Report Check-InThis is the junction where you have to turn right. It’s another 10km from here to the site, which is 30km south of Saramiento.
The detour is well worth it, even if you visited the site in Santa Cruz. Recommendable & free.
