This place is really special because Edgardo as the host makes you feel at home. You have everything a traveler needs to then continue the route.

Este lugar es realmente especial porque Edgardo como anfitrión hace que te sientas en casa. Tienes todo lo que un viajero necesita para luego continuar la ruta.

wonderful place. Edgardo shares his house with travellets. professor of astronomy, friend of Maria Reiche (Nazca lines), shares his passion and knowledge gives tours on the Nazca lines for tourists.
kitchen, bathroom with cold showers and toilet, living room. wifi, electricity, potable water to refill water tank.we could park in front of his house, safe. next to his house is a mini market for basic shopping. Highly recommended!

great place with beautiful vibes. you can share the house with another travelers and Edgardo, the professor, is a excellent person who talk about everything with passion. you cannot lost the talk in planetarium where give a presentation about the Nasca lines and stars. the only thing is you must to care the house like if we're yours. if you cook, clean. if you use the bathroom, clean. collaborate for the next one and keep order and clean for not lost the place for the next travellers.

We were here 4 nights. A good place to enjoy the hospitality of Professor Edgardo, share time with other travelers and rest. Do not forget to attend the conferences that the professor gives every night in the planetarium, very interesting!

Amazing, that people like Edgardo still exist! We took a hot shower, washed our cloths, filled up water, went to his lovely presentation and stayed 2 nights a little bit down the road.

At the end, we wanted to give him a tip to say thank you, but he just did not accept it! So all was for free… really really nice!

Highly recommended!

Just keep in mind that the washing machine is not sooooo good and that there is a dancing school in this neighbourhood, which has classes until 11pm in the evening and from around 8am in the morning… so can be loud music a few hours a day.

But for free and because of Edgardo this place is just amazing!

Edgardo is a legend. His presentation is really interesting and he is a very kind person.

Parking in front of his house or 20meters down the road at the corner. Safe and quiet.

Edgardo is such a gentleman. We messaged a few hours before we got to nasca and he was happy for us to park outside his house and also go to his presentation on the nasca lines at 7:30pm. He is a lovely and friendly man who opens his house to travellers.

Profe Edgardo já viajou o mundo fazendo couchsurfing e há 20 anos retribui as experiências que viveu transformando sua casa em um ponto de apoio a todos os corações aventureiros seja qual for sua forma de viajar, de motorhome, moto, mochila, carona. Ficamos alguns dias com ele, ouvindo suas histórias, dicas, aprendendo sobre às linhas e a Maria Reich. Apesar de todos que tem bom senso saberem que é um dever ajudar com a limpeza e manutenção do local, ainda é necessário destacar isso pois muitos não o fazem. RETRIBUA a generosidade do professor CUIDANDO DO LOCAL, é o MÍNIMO a se fazer em agradecimento a ter uma ducha quente, cozinha equipada e uma máquina de lavar. Não seja o tipo de viajante que só se aproveita ok? Preservar essa comunidade depende de cada um de nós, assim como escrever os reviews para deixar atualizado e ajudar quem vem depois.

Dormimos duas noites em frente à casa do Edgardo. Ele é muito simpático. Nos levou ao observatório e nos mostrou tudo! Ele adora viajantes e dá um show de explicação sobre as linhas de Nazca e astronomia. Vale muito dormir aqui. É dos lugares que com certeza vai ficar marcado pra nós!

Recommend! Edgardo is so kind and generous.. opening his home, heart and knowledge to all traveler’s. He absolutely loves having people stay and join him at the planetarium for free ( Nasca Lines ) It’s the perfect place to rest, have a hot shower, wash your clothes and enjoy a chat with Edgardo / other traveler’s. :)

We came to fly the Nazca lines and walk the aqueducts, but finding Edgardo brought us so much more. Sometimes in life you find people that open their hearts to others and the universe, and he is one of them. We found camaraderie in other travelers watching the World Cup, learned a ton from Edgardos presentation at the planetarium setup that they have dedicated to Maria Reiche at the hotel she lived at her last 25 years. Go see and listen to his talk before seeing the Nazca lines! We parked in our van on the street and could come and go out of the house to use the kitchen and facilities. There’s a small tienda next door with beverages, snacks, and a few other things. Great stay!

Wow, we found out about El Profe from Heraldo in Refugio Lima and I am glad he told us about this place.
Edgardo is a super nice traveler who really opens his place to fellow travellers of all walks of life. We really got lucky to find him as we damaged one of the bikes and needed a place to do the repairs and his garage was perfect for the job!
Great base to go exploring the surroundings and having an astronomer / nazca line expert around was awesome!
Thank you so much Edgardo for sharing your home with us!

o Edgardo é astrônomo e viajante. conhece a América Latina e a Europa. se comunica em 3 idiomas (espanhol, inglês e francês). seu bom coração faz com que abra sua casa para receber os viajantes e nos deixar mto a vontade. o clima na casa é mto amistoso. Dica: ajude como puder para deixar tudo limpo e organizado. é um espaço comunitário!! ficamos 4 noites. excelente apoio p/ os viajantes.

Increíble lugar excelente vibra Edgardo el dueño es súper increíble te ayuda en lo que más puede , linda gente que llega se puede hacer unas caminatas desde la casa , se puede parquear a los alrrededores y es súper tranquilo hay buenos menú cercas , agradecido por haber visitado este lugar ❤️

unfortunately we could not spend enough time here, we arrived late, but Edgardo took us in. we were talking with the other travellers while he was giving classes. nice place, everyone knows him and like him. even the neighbors were welcoming.

What else could a traveller wish for? Edgardo provides hot showers, potable water, complete kitchen, 4 spare bedrooms, washing machine, terrace, relaxing area.. AND a free talk in the planetarium about the Nasca lines that he delivers himself. You'll meet other travellers too. cooperate with the house rules and any improvements you might make.

Edgardo wants you to feel like at home. He is a really nice man. We felt really comfortable with him and in his house. Many overlanders stay longer than planned, so did we. But please contact him before you come. This is a private house. You would also love to know in advance if you will have guests for few days, isn't it ;) First we slept in the car but then we moved in one (out of 4) of his big rooms. Bed was really comfortable. We used our own bedsheets, but he can also provide you a bedsheet. You can have here your privacy but you can also be social with other Overlanders if you want. You will find a washing machine, well equipped kitchen, clean bathroom with hot shower, a chill area and a big terrace. We also visited his presentation at evening (6.30 in French, 7.30 in English and 8.30 in Spanish). Edgardo provides everything for you, so please clean after you and support him with a donation.

Great stop and it was nice listening to Edgardo’s history and that of the lines. We went to the planetarium with him and stayed later to see some ‘secret’ videos of the lines. Really neat!

Edgardo is a gem!!!! We were desperate for a shower and he offered us shower for free! The best shower in South America! We decided to go then to the beach but after warning from locals that a murder happened on the beach we went back to Edgardo’s place and he was so welcoming that we spent there 4 days and didn’t want to move😄 he is an amazing person who likes to speak about travelling and astronomy. Edgard also travels a lot so he has got many stories and he will be happy if you stay. Other travelers are really nice to so to have a lunch or dinner together is a pleasant experience. We then continued to Huaraz and returned after hiking. Edgard will offer you everything - shower, laundry, kitchen, all ... really chilled out place and very clean and nice. We really recommend this place if you want to rest, meet new people and enjoy a time at nice house with nice owner. Because it is for free it is nice if you cook for all or you can leave some money for gas, water, toilet paper in the propina box. Also across the street is amazing small restaurant - ask Edgard he will go with you - one lady cooks as a “mama” - big portions for 7 soles! 2 course meal with drink! We loved the stay here and Edgard will be always in our hearts!

Edgardo is so generous with his house, sharing kitchen bathrooms everything with travelers. We stayed a night in our van on the street outside, and hung out with lots of friendly travelers in the house. We left a donation in the jar on the top floor of the house.

Please, help him with the cleaning of the house if you see something is dirty; please, make joint effort for improvements if you see opportunities; please, leave donation at the donation jar to help the house to be self-sustainable. You will find kindness, good, friendly and intellectual conversation, hot shower, wash your clothes, fill up tanks, cooking gas, fast wifi, etc... After all of this years receiving travelers, please, let's give him back and do our best to help him...

Very good person, Edgardo share to us your house, we sleep here 2 night and we went free to “planetario” he is guía there. Really good experience. He have WiFi, parking and shower. Recommended!

Stayed at Edgardo’s lovely home for a night. It was too short. He was so knowledgeable about the Nazca Lines and it was very interesting chatting with him. Very friendly and welcoming and a great experience. We slept soundly in the car in the garage and shared breakfast together.

Es un astrónomo que ofrece su hogar a los viajeros, lo contactan a través de la app Couchsurfing la mayoría de las veces, a los viajeros les permite usar su cocina, les ofrece habitaciones comodas con tv, wifi, duchas, baños, lavadora, etc. Una excelente vista desde el techo, donde se puede cenar en una gran mesa, allí hay bbq. No cobra pero se sugiere un aporte voluntario, según como se haya disfrutado. Tiene agua de pozo filtrada, se puede parquear afuera, es una zona muy tranquila y alejada del ruido. Gran experto en las lineas
