As advertised, however filled with tsetse flies that wouldn't stop biting us.
Report Check-InAfter a quick talk with the guard, we spent one night there. A lot of tsetse flies around, there are really annoying and painful. No shade at all. Night was very hot and humid. Still 29 °C / 80 % at 2am. Difficult for us to sleep, even after 4 months in West Africa.
Report Check-InNice spot to spend one or few days. The Gard of the resort allows us to stay and offered us a shower and toilets. He also offered us to fill up our water tank.
They was turtles swimming along the beach.
Only two people passed and waved us friendly. Quiet night.
A beach resort has been set up here, we were lucky to meet the owner on arrival. He speaks only Portuguese but the only resort guest was happy to translate. The entire area is private property. We could stay anywhere on the beach for free and as long as we wanted. Cold showers and toilets for free, hot showers payable.
Very friendly staff. As the only guest left after our first night we had the place to ourselves two more nights. Only the gardeners came during day, no other person at all.
Very beautiful and tranquil, watch out for turtles coming to the beach at night!! :)
Now developing as a local “resort” with bungalows, “swimming pool”, and restaurant. Seems to be operating only on weekends (rainy season and not quite finished) so got permission to bush camp. Not much trash. Friendly people.
