Beautiful view at surrounding mountains. Nice flat and grassy campsite. Friendly owner who arranges boattrips. Price is 2500 shilling per tent. Meal in the restaurant is 600 shilling/5 dollar.
Shower is cold but if you ask, they offer you a shower in one of the rooms.
Report Check-InGood place as described by stuckinlowgear comment. In my opinion the campsite and lake Jipe are not worth the 25km of gravel detour from main road though. But if you're going to or coming from Tsavo than it can be a good option. Paid 2000 Kes for 2 people after asking for a discount as there's no hot showers at the moment. Manager said regular price is 2500 KES per tent or 1000 KES per person for groups. Tap water not suitable for drinking according to manager. Good internet signal with Safaricom and Airtel.
Report Check-InGreat place just outside the park. Viewing platform, pool, dishwashing area, and flat grassy area for camping. Toilets and showers were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They lit a fire for us at the communal fire pit (we were the only ones there) and we had a nice chat with our Masai night guard. We paid 1000 ksh per person. There’s a restaurant but we didn’t eat there. Highly recommend for a (much less expensive) late arrival to the park as the Lake Jipe campsite is currently a construction zone.
Report Check-InThe official name now is Lavender Garden Hotel. The price 3000 KES (30 USD) for 2 person and one camper quite high considering the dilapidated state of the ablutions. No room for negotiation even though we were the only two guests in the whole compound. They did give us the use of a bathroom in a room, which was much better. Probably due to the dry season no waterhole and only a few Impala and many birds. The 27 km sand road to get here will be unpassable during rains. Not sure how long this place will survive without guests (we were here in the weekend). Waypoint not accurate: campsite is not located on lake.
Report Check-Inactual price 2500 shillings per tent.
road to the lake very dusty in places.
