totally burned there are hardly any animals, except for some birds and warthogs, in a dry lake, the excursion itself does not contribute anything, they should not charge for it, maybe before the fire if it would have been worth it.

In addition to my other comments, we went onwards to Dindefelo to see the chimps, which was wonderful. We met a guide called Karim who speaks good English, he is professional and a nice person and has his own motorbike. He’s available for other tours around Senegal (has some experience)

We read the comments but tried anyway as we don’t like to miss an opportunity to see wildlife.

weren’t allowed to enter with our dog and weren’t prepared to leave her, but it sounds from here and people we met like we didn’t miss too much. Apparently they are burning some grass down so that tourists can see the wildlife better! And we read that the lions have tracking collars as they’ve been reintroduced.

You can see some wildlife on the river in the wild camping spots and camps nearby.

Expensive „Lost Place Tour“: mentioned prices are correct. Please note that entry and guide (we had a very friendly one) are paid by calendar-days. We entered one day at 15.00 and left next day at 12.00 so the charged us 2 full days). During rainy season most of tracks are closed/flooded so you can make the park in one day easily. Camping area is just a spot next to the ruins of the Hotel „Simenti“. Ablutions in a common sense are not existing. Game: nearly nothing to see, maybe better in dry season. Bottom line: absolutely not worth the money for us!

The park cost a lot of money! It is possible to sleep before the office, they charge you no money, but it is really really hot! It’s 10.000 CFA for the guide, 5.000 CFA per Person, 10.000 for our vehicle, one day! If you want to stay in the park it is only guide and person, vehicle only pay one day! No Dogs allowed! If you go there with a truck (ours 3,80 high, 2,50m, 8m) you can not visit everything from the park. So it was to expensive for us and we left! I think if you want to have a driver and a Jeep it is about 70.CFA!

they have a price list on a wall in their office. it is indeed not possible to enter the park without guide. prices are: 5000 fee per person per day, one single fee of 10000 for the car, 10000 per day for the guide. camping in the park is 5000 per person per night at the nice campament de leon.

We weren't allowed to enter without a guide plus fees per car and per person plus camping and they wouldn't say how much.
