The best border crossing we have come across. Both sides friendly, fast and no payment required. We don't have a CDP but used the €250 TIP from the Diama border to re-enter Senegal without any problems.

Crossed this morning from Senegal into the Gambia. Like people wrote before, very pleasant and efficient border crossing. Nobody asked for anything. Completed all formalities in less than an hour.

If you are from one of the nationalities that do need to buy a gambian visa (Austria, France, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States...) the price in this border is the 3000 Dalasi (50€). ECOWAS Countries have different price of visa.

We, Spanish and US, had to pay each 3000 Dalasi. The visa lasts 3 months, there was no other option, we asked for shorter visas, but they say there’s no other in this border. In the coast borders they may get transit visas.

In the border of Sabi we got only a stamp after we had to go to the immigration office in the town, Basse Santa Su, to get the visa.

We didn’t had Dalasi, we only had XOF, the immigration office would have taken them in place of the Dalasi, but he was uneable to find which was the right exchange to Dalasi, he asked us for 200€ in XOF. So we end up going to change them in one of the bureau of exchange in town (there are a lot) all have the same exchange rate (14th Feb 2018: 1 XOF= 0,086 Dalasi).

Notice that even there are 3 ATMs in Basse none of them let you withdraw more than 2000 or 3000 Dalasi everytime you go.

Besides that, Senegalese and Gambia border was easy and fast.

We re-entered Senegal again with our car from Sabi. Everything went really smoothly. For the first time no hustle or asking for a gift. We were on the road before we knew it.

Again had trouble getting a visa on arrival to Senegal. -We said we would call our embassy to sort out and visa was then issued. TIP was 2500 CFA for X days. No services at this border but had border barriers controlled by the police.
