The rate of R385 per night is exorbitant for what you get.No cleaning services of private bathroom;Ash not removed;State of private bathroom in shocking state, need serious repairs! In 3 weeks we were the only campers.Other camping sites such as Sedgefield, Cape Town, Lamberts Bay, Swellendam, Mossel Bay offer far better facilities at pensioners rates. What a pity, because the seaview is priceless!

will it seems to be open, but your to pay at city center, but that not always open. I camped there were others here look like setup for long hall.. off season nothing seems to be open .. so bring your supplies. toilet block at bottom seems to always be open ..!

Not a bad campsite . We had a site with a private shower. This campsite has potential but needs an upgrade snd maintenance work. Probably needs better management. Staff were friendly and the roosterkoek we were gifted was divine!

Thus place is definitely open. Still as described. Needs a bit of TLC.

Trying to make a booking was fun but once I made contact with Tracey she was really helpful. There are 3 x sections to the campsite, Block A is on the sea front, Perdeskoen (Horse Shoe) is situated a little back and more sheltered (see maps I have attached). On Google Maps it is shown as Strandfontein as well as the Horse Shoe. We took a site with a private ablution but ended up using the general porta cabin bathrooms which was far nicer and clean. If you want to make a booking you need this link https://book.nightsbridge.com/28520 or phone the booking office. If you have not made a booking you must stop at the Information Centre Office on your left hand side as you enter the town. If you wish to eat out I would recommend Kommetjie restaurant on the beach front but you must book at the Strandfontein Cafe next door if they are closed.

Report Check-In

This is run by the Strandfontein Municipality at whose offices at the entrance to the town you must check in, pay and get a key to one of the stand's individual ablutions which although they functioned OK they were not in the greatest condition. Being on the west coast this region is subject to coastal fog. If others are camped there it may be noisy at night. As an alternative you could easily wild camp at various spots along the many gravel tracks that run beside the beach. Avoid the picnic spot by the beach in the town. Probably not safe at night and disgusting toilets!

Report Check-In

An okay place and the A block had great view over the ocean but ablutions are nothing special so considering the daily rate it is rather pricey... Cost for us was R380, perhaps in-season rate. When the wind blows you are very exposed

Report Check-In

We stand at the A-Blocks with seaview. It costs R320 per pitch with private ablutions. Can not see a tourist trapp like comment bevor.

Report Check-In

Private ablution is now 320r, no toilet paper. A tourist trap, but fantastic view. Unless you get the place sponsored, I would rather bush camp nearby, since it seems to be very safe around here (the campsite is also in the middle of the village with no guard or fence...
