4WD definitely recommended, road is very rough. Camped 4 nights, beautiful spot.
Report Check-InNice spot, we were at the little parking spot in front of the beach. Some trees for our hangmat. We had a little swim in the sea, but the waves were quite forcefully so didn't stay in for long. Close to the access of the King Louis Waterfall (maybe 20 minutes walking to the waterfall itself)
Report Check-InNice place, but busier than expected - many of the beach pull ins are in front of a house or hostel. Also some run-down tents around, don't know if inhabited or not. Rocks in the water so may be not optimal for swimming, but there are many surfers around. Toucans in the trees. No facilities, Kolbi cell service fine, Claro only very weak. Definetly a nice place, but there are better places (e.g the spot in Drake Bay (Rincon Beach)).
Report Check-InMade it here in a vw kombi. 4wd not needed when dry but maybe a struggle if you are low clearance. I think 4wd would be necessary after heavy rain. Very lumpy road, some parts that would flood and be very muddy. Beautiful beach. Good kolbi signal.
Report Check-InFifty meters up front there’s a space for one car right in between some tall trees. More secluded. Nice spot.
Report Check-InStayed here for 4 nights. Perfectly doable with 2WD. Very friendly locals inside and outside the water. Parking spot under some palm trees right in front of the break.
Report Check-InThis is one of the best surf spots in Costa Rica, there are no facilities, you can just park in front of the wave, couple of benches on the beach; wild camping at its best. Do not attempt to reach this place if you do not have 4x4, bring all your supplies there is no electricity in the area. Walking distance to pan dulce and backwash surf breaks.
Report Check-InNice camping spot. Some shade of trees and nice, challenging road to get there (4wd)
Report Check-InNice beach little sand strong currents, good surf lot of surfer, limited parking, bad road 4x4 raccomended. At beginning of road take the right there are 2 concrete columns and looks like a private driveway but is the right road. Is one way, on Galileo looks like a loop. It is a one way, at end road there is a private driveway with gate. Tucanos and other birds around, plan to hike to waterfall in the morning
Report Check-InLovely place! Save, quiet en right on the beach but save from high tide. Real bad road with big rocks. But a treat if you arrive. Surfers arrived, nice people.
Report Check-InOne of the most beautiful beaches we saw in Costa Rica. You need 4x4 and high clearance to get there in wet season. It's an amazing spot at the beach. At high tide there are some surfers and other people watching them. Nice vibe! No facilities.
Report Check-InThe road down here is really not the best. Its very bumpy and in a bad condition. The beach itself is quite nice but there are no facilities. You definitely need an 4x4 to get down to the beach.
Report Check-InWARNING: don't try to get here without 4x4 or a very strong engine. Park your car at Martinas bar and walk to those beautiful beaches down here. Right after the bar there's a river with a very steep climb. We got stuck there (VW T3) and had to be towed out...
Report Check-InGreat breach camping! We parked in the shade and enjoyed the great ocean view from the hammock. Swimming only at high tide possible. 4x4 and high clearance recommended!
Report Check-InAmazing place! Pitched our tent next to the beach!Bring food as there is no shop there. We were told that you could drink the water from the waterfall but we still used a filter (our guidebook said there's Giardia in the water)
Report Check-InAmazing beach next to jungle filled with monkeys, lizards, and scarlet macaws. Not great for swimming, but there are beaches within walking distance for that.
