Description

A local Swimmingspot 1km off the road. There is a sign on the road. There is a drop toilet, some wooden tables and some roofs where you can pitch a tent under. Enough space for campervans I guess. But we travel with bicycle, so haven't tried that.
Entry costs 10 Q for adults, 5 for kids under 10.

Very nice place to camp (RV or tent). The river is fresh and it is easy to swim. Lot of locals are coming here, the women are doing laundry in the river and the children are playing in the river or playing football. If you have children here they will find playmates. Children are very nice and curious, they don't speak Spanish but Q'eqchi'. Price is 25Q per adult and children are 12,5Q (after negotiation). We have also been to "El Refugio" to have a look, but we prefered this place.

What a lovely place.
Not very private when all the locals found out we were here with three dogs but what a treat.
So friendly and inquisitive, stayed until dark
Great place to swim, picked up some garbage
The toilets are rustic (pits) and not clean, only down fall but we would return. Beautiful beyond that

Wow what a beautiful river. This place is as described. It is in a small mayan village that speaks q’ueq’chi but not much spanish.
I paid 25Q pp for camping all the days i wanted, stayed 3 night and was amazing.

Ahí me bañé, lavé ropa y mis platos.

Si únicamente quieren pasar el día cuesta 10Q pp adultos (5Q niños)

Truly a lovely spot!! Thanks for the input!!! Parking/camping just aside of the river ovet a grass field where a natural pool of turkoise water forms. No facilities but water from natural source (the river). Excelent to swim!! 10Q pP. Max of 2.75m height. Bring everything you need. Very worthy! Just 1km from main road.
