Description

Lovely, flat camp ground with incredible views of Bwindi. Clean facilities, warm showers, and lovely staff. can try to negotiate (in Nov 2021). Nice lodge on a great setting. Great views to Bwindi forest on its side. We camped the first night, negotiated $15/pppn, normal price nowdays is $20/pppn. Pricey, for what you get. Shower and toilet in restaurant’s facilities. Or they can open one room for you as your ablution. For the other night we took a room: ”luxury” room was nice with good view. Way too expensive (~$300/night!) from front desk, but you may get it for third the price via booking.com (with full board). So check booking.com! Lunch nice, dinner ok. Friendly staff. Rushaga gate is less than km away, if you want to go tracking from there.

Latest Check-Ins

Expensive but worth it. We negotiated 15 USD pp for camping. The staff is very well trained, friendly and helpful. They even gave us a professional briefing for the gorilla Trekking because we didn't have our own guide.
The location is amazing. It's a place where you will get what you pay for.
The road to Rushaga is incredible beautiful.

Report Check-In

Recommended 100%. Very nice staff, great views, top restaurant, campsites also good. Road to get there is also a great 4by4 drive - so overall a super experience.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite within the mountains with a view to bwindi impenetrable and very close to the Rushaga Gate.
We paid 15 usd ppn for camping, which is a little bit expensive, but at least you get a hot shower and a Wi-Fi connection (weak, but there)
Signal for mobile operator's not very strong in the mountains.
Rooms and restaurant also available.

Great place but camping with RTT (not sure about ground tent) is not 12$pppn anymore, but 20$pppn. We decided to stay anyways as the place is beautiful, cold beer, amazing views, very nice staff and clean showers (hot!) and bathrooms. The camping area itself is not that large but is grassy, flat and has shade. we were the only clients so plenty of space. They also have fancy cottages, they look nice but definitely much more expensive. 10min walk to the Park gate and village.

As everyone has said in terms of facilities. Bathroom is just above camping area and you can plug into power by the couches In bar area. Perfectly located only 5minutes from Rushaga gate if trekking from there

Beautifully located campsite on the property of Rushaga Gorilla Camp. Lovely views from the bar. The camp is expanding and building a swimming pool and gym, so it probably will be even better in the future. As a camper, you’re treated the same as a lodge guest. Stayed for two nights and cooked our own meals. We had breakfast at the restaurant, which was convenient for the gorilla tracking day. However breakfast was very basic and not fantastic. Wouldn’t do it again for the day after the tracking. Very close to the start of the gorilla tracking at rushaga gate, a few minutes drive. Would definitely stay here again.

the only option in Rushaga. not so bad but 15$pp and bad and far shower. nice view on the forest from the bar area just above campsite. you need to take your car to the Gorilla trecking since after the briefing half of the visitors have to drive to different trails departure.

A very nice camp on the edge of bwindi forest. $15pppn. Showers not great but they gave us a key to a room so we could use that shower instead. We stayed 3 nights and went gorilla trekking from here. Just an FYI you need to take a car when you go trekking in case you don’t leave from that point. Or you can ask for a lift. We were able to get a lift a lot of people didn’t start from the main gate. Food was good too and generally it was a very nice place to be. We also did the BhaTwa tour and that was again interesting if not very sad.

Report Check-In

Very friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices (Camping 15$ ppn, 3 course menu 15$). They seem to turn off the water at night at the public facilities, so be aware of that. Other than that it is a very good place to stay if you are doing the gorilla trekking in Rushaga.
