Camped here with our 2 heavy motos for a night. All very hard packed at this time of the year, no issues entering thought the marked entrance and riding right up to the shelter.
Out of the wind, slept great in our tent.

we stayed here on the island for one night. No tourist. Use the marked east entrance and you are fine. I don't recommend to get closer than 100 meters or drive along the shore, otherwise don't cry if you get stuck.

We came in from the north entrance of the Salar. Absolutely stunning drive. We had the island all to ourselves and had very little wind. The entrance is marked by some rocks and dark tracks. Be careful near the "beach" area it looks like some folks got stuck in the rainy season.

Nice camping spot with big rocks that will hopefully shelter you from the wind. There's also two fire pits, we recommend bringing a little wood/hay/coals/marshmallows if you want to get a nice campfire going. :) We spent two great nights here, and it was an incredible feeling to see for kilometers around and no people in sight. Note: we had to put our van on 4WD in order to reverse it up the hill to the sheltered spot. May not be doable for big rigs. Hike up the hill for a beautiful 360 view of sunset. Be careful when driving further than this point, there's tire marks but some time after we got stuck in thick clay. We saw evidence of other cars who had also gotten deeply stuck too. Be careful friends and have fun! :)
