Description

If you want to go see a beautiful traditional liana bridge, then this is it! It "belongs" to the village of Konipara, so you will have to go through the village first and pay them 100,000 GNF. This is their price, their craft, if you're not willing to pay simply don't show up. For that price you will be allowed to see and walk on the bridge (it's solid!) and take pictures if you wish.

I went with Santos from Nzerekoré. He is a super nice guy who's from Konipara and his uncle is one of the men who look after the bridge, rebuilding it regularly (but all their techniques and extremely well kept secrets). I negotiated to go with him on his bike and back to Nzerekoré for 100,000 GNF total. In the end he'd been so nice and helpful that I added 20,000 :)

However Santos is not a guide per se so he won't always be available, but give him a call and he'll be more than happy to see what he can do: +224 629 89 88 16. Even if you have your own vehicle I would still phone him up so he can call up the village and see if someone can show you the bridge. Be aware that only motorbikes can fit on the trail between the village and the bridge though.
