This is a wild camping spot on a little peninsula of land that crops out into the water. During the day, some of the collective buses park here but it's quiet at night. People do come to smoke weed and hang out sometimes but everyone is nice. All the locals said it was safe. You are in view from the bridge and road during the day but at night it's pretty dark so you won't stick out. 5 mins walk into Guatape and it was the only piece of dry land by the water that was accessible when we were here.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Place is still OPEN!! We spent two nights with other travelers. They charged us C$20k & C$25k based on vehicle size. You can walk to town from here.
Report Check-InNo longer available. The place has been fenced off and there is a sign "No Parking".
Report Check-InWe parked our Kombi here late afternoon, went to town and came back during the night. Had a good night of sleep and left early morning. Nobody asked for any money. Felt safe. Tourism buses park here during the day.
Report Check-In20k in Thursday, maybe it depends when is any event around + weekend. For 20k I would look for something better.
Report Check-InWe’re here for two quiet nights on a weekend in August. Nobody asked for any money. Recommended!
Report Check-Inthe place is not worth it. The price now 30,000COP / Night. Very dirty. We drove on.
Report Check-InBest - if not the only - place to camp at Guacaté. But not for free during the mid-July 2023 weekend we came: a local guy, Jimmy his name, seems to be the guardian of the spot, asking for 10.000 pesos (2,5 usd)) parking fee, or 20.000 for a whole day/night. We gave him 30k fro 2 nights tfron Saturday to Monday and he was happy. Maybe during the week u can still camp here for free.
Report Check-InBeautiful place to stay! Locals came around in the morning, all super friendly. Nice and cool!
Report Check-InWe spent a night with our 26-foot camper. A guy made us pay 10,000 COP at the entrance. Not recommended on Saturday night because it is very noisy (guys come to drink beers all night with loud music). Big rig ok and near town
Report Check-InPerfect leveled spot, we confirmed all the things noticed before, full 4G if needed!
Report Check-InSpent 2 nights here. Good spot to visit town from. Truck traffic during the day getting gravel, but quiet at night during the week. 10min walk into town. Parking area gets a bit muddy when it rains, but no issues driving on it. Try to park out of the 'roads' so the trucks can get by.
Report Check-InBon endroit pour dormir meme si environnement pas top mais c est le seul sans etre dans un parking ici. Aucun service. Calme et secur ville a 15 mn a pied.
Report Check-InWe came here because in the city it was very difficult to overnight. It is possible but for small rigs. So we decided to give it a shot to this place, since the last entry was 3 years ago. It was around new year so the town was full! In the peninsula people come to enter their boats or jet ski. So we parked in one side close to the street to do not bother anyone. We spend 4 nights and it was perfect. some people come to park next to us during the day but at night nobody here. Very quiet and safe.
Report Check-InWe spent a new year eve here with others travelers. But for sleep we prefer park in a street. Calm night.
Report Check-Inall night long people with and without moto came here to talk. some smoked whatsoever. waste is laying around. daytime people work to collect gravel/pebble.
Report Check-Invery quietplace with view on the rock del Penol.

Espacio verde para parquear al lado del lago. Gratis! No hay facilidades, cerca del centro. En frente (negocio con toldo rojo) ofrecen el servicio de baño y ducha. Vecinos amables!
Report Check-InGood, free, used to be a Camp by site. There are a couple of small roofed kiosks to hang out or put your tent. Across the street you can hire a hot shower for 2k or cold for 1k. Also restroom for 500. Best spot in town to wild camp.
Report Check-InThere is a "no acampar" sign at the entrance. We didnt stay there, i think they dont like no more tents or motorhome there.
Report Check-InPerto do centro, lugar bonito e tranquilo para passar o dia e a noite. Nos banhamos no lago e tentamos pescamos. Recomendamos.
were here during the weekend and was 5000 for the day or 8000 until the next morning
might still be free during the week
Stayed 2 nights there (tent camping). Awesome place, quiet and safe. BUT be aware that each night there is hard (really hard) rain in this region!!!! So don't camp with a beach tent 😉 Except this, this place is not bad at all.
