Nicaragua
Great place for camping. there are a lot of spot to put the tent or where to park the car. night are quite and relaxing, just a bit windy after de sun set. There was a trail to go down to the lake, but was not available because the plant closed the way(the guard told me that the machine to clean the path was broken). The guard is there 24h. There is water for drinking and for showers, also toilets. The price is just a donation, I gave 120cordobas and I think it was ok for the guard. The sunset was the best. Just be careful with the ticks and Scorpions, I saw a few(in theory only in the rainy season they said). The way to arrive is quite okay, perfect for moto or car, not sure for caravane because some parts where a bit steep.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We tried to come here with our 2WD truck camper, but had to turn around as there was a spot with very deep sand on a steep hill. Going there might have been okay as it was going down, but fairly sure we wouldn't have made it the way back driving up across this part. It's also just before/after a corner, so difficult to accelerate beforehand. Might be possible during some months, but I guess now just before the start of the rainy season it is just too dry. The way until there was okay, although quite some low hanging branches as usual.
Report Check-InNice place, they have a shower and toilets..
Like mentioned before, there is a guard around 24h.
The drive up is a bit bumpy but no problem with 2wd. There are a lot of low hanging branches, so be prepared for some scraches.
