Nice Camp Outside Gobelins | Wild Camping

Beautiful spot at the base of some cliffs. Large dispersed camping area with lots of spots. Within Goblin Valley State Park and close to a trailhead for a slot canyon. Excellent night skies.

Great area. Scores of spots up and down, for a couple of miles, right against the cliffs. Drive up to the cliffs, off of Wild Horse Rd, is very rutted. 2 wheel drive and big rig friendly, but go SLOW! Fire rings others have mentioned are stone. BYO wood. No cell service, even with a booster. Dump station available at Goblins, but have to pay day pass $20/$25 weekends plus $15. Water available various places in Goblins to fill containers. 10 minutes to Goblins and 10 minutes to Little Wild Horse Canyon.

We are in a different spot in the same area, about 400’ east of this posted location. It is awesome and as described.

Nice views, the road to the site is a bit bumpy, but our 2wd cargo van was able to handle it. A bit tricky to find a completely flat spot, but possible. There is a firepit, bring your own wood cause there's nothing to collect from the surrounding areas. There is an official campground with electricity and showers nearby, $30 overnight per vehicle (includes park entrace fee). No cell service.

Several alcoves along the canyon wall with stone fire rings set up. Beautiful spot.

Great spot (multiple spots can be found around) to free camp just outside gobelins state park. No facilities but you can have a shower for 5$ at the state campsite. Campsite was 25$ inside the park but this spot is much nicer and free.
