Description

Don't be fooled by the road to get there, it's a real maze so use google maps. Access is through private farm lands and you might think you will be camping with the cows. But soon you will reach the access road to this magnificent natural forest. Sites are few, but have fire rings. By far my favourite spot to camp. A real gem.

Awesome spot right on the edge, beautiful views. Stopped driving after the path was getting rough. Pack in, pack out. Relatively flat for tents. Not much shade. Full Verizon

Absolutely gorgeous spot on a ridge. It's very quiet, and only a couple of vehicles passed by in 24 hours. The coordinates will wind you through some farmland areas before you get to a gravel road. This road is in pretty good shape, I traveled in an extended van without issue. Once you leave the gravel road onto a red dirt road, it gets a little rutted and rocky. At one point, I opted not to go further and turned back to another spot.
Take the adventure, and enjoy!

I can’t believe more people don’t know about this spot. It is amazing! Dirt road up wasn’t too bad. Made it in a small RV.

Found this place with Apple Maps. Passed through a lot of farm land but was pretty straightforward to find. Camped in a 10 person tent and it fit just fine at the site. Awesome views and well-made fire pits.

absolutely beautiful and breath taking sites. the views are amazing. minimal trash, mainly just a few cigarette butts and toilet paper. a couple cars have gone by and the people at the first site are playing loud music.
great fire pits and the road coming in was fine. if its wet i wouldnt recommend it.

A few spots near the ridge. Excellent access, easy road in, including the last leg of the dirt road as you approach this spot (as long as it's not raining) Gorgeous views, and existing handmade fire pits. Verizon signal is excellent even without the booster. No shade, so be prepared.

Head up to the ridge line for pull in camping spots. We’re headed down to sand canyon Pueblo later this am (turned out to be a nice hike but a bust as far as ruins go). Views are pretty good for desert Southwest. ATT LTE signal very usable, got a good boost with WeBoost antenna.

This beautiful spot is right on the edge of the canyon .Flat rock and fire rings. Some shade. However, very windy. Great cell service. Follow Google Maps. No big rigs.

nice views of the canyon below .. set up kinda in between 2 other sites in a shady spot .. there are a few other sites but at the moment I have the place to myself ... has a pretty well made fire pit but with the restrictions on right now I won't be using it .. cell signal is low but it doesnt loose it .. I'm in a 12'military trailer an jeep .. the road in can get rough in spots but I never went into 4wd so would say as long as you have some ground clearance you should be ok .. most of the sites are on the smaller side so wouldn't suggest anything bigger than 14' for a trailer or 24' if your in a rv as I had to unhitch the trailer and move it into position ...

As of 2018 the roads weren't too confusing amymore, just open this location in Google maps and follow road N until there's a dirt road dead ahead with the blue dot of the camping spot about 0.5 miles down it. All the camping spots are all along that dirt road. The exact spot described by the OP was taken when I got here, however all the spots I saw have plenty of space and fire rings. At the one I stayed at was the biggest fire circle I've ever seen. (My picture is of this giant fire circle) Sadly there was a fire restriction due to drought when I was here so I was not able to use it.
