Report Check-InBest town to stay the night to (re-)acclimatise coming from Puerto Maldonado, since Juliaca is at 3800m. Driving into town there is a parking (cochera). Seems like the best place to stay the night, but the woman attending wouldn't let us.
The location of this wild camp was outside of town. I changed it to this spot. It's a triangle between two roads with cars and trucks parked there. Town security told us it's the safest because there is a camera hanging above it. A friendly man also told us it's safe. Had a surprisingly quiet night, no barking dogs and barely any traffic. Trucks started driving by again from 6am.
