i checked the schedule the night before which said the afternoon ships would pass from 1:40pm. on arrival at 1pm they said the next ship would pass at 3pm. not sure if there's a reliable way to check before you arrive.

on l'a visité aujourd'hui c'est super sympa. 10$ adulte pour le musée et la vue sur les écluses. 5$ enfant jusqu'à 13 ans. dommage que le ciné imax n'était pas ouvert.

Restaurant still not open. There is an open WiFi spot close to the exit of the museum. We stayed there to do some research, fast WiFi! Didn’t go into the museum (because of the price, still $10 pp).

ships pass one way from 8am to 10am, and the other from after 2pm (until just after 4 I think). Don't be an idiot like me and show up at 10am otherwise you're in for a wait!

With covid the theater and museum are closed, so just the observation deck is open. Arrived 08:30 and just in time to see the last boat of the morning. Better ask if there are any boats expected before buying the ticket, otherwise there is little to see.

We visited the restaurant and it was great! Limonade 3 dollars. You can get tickets for free for the restaurant from 10:30am. :)

The trick with the free ticket to the restaurant still works! Just ask for it at the entrance of the visitor centre. They give you a green band for your wrist.
We were seated on a small balcony of the restaurant in 2nd floor and had a beer (Panama Classic for 4,50$).
You can hear the explanations from the 4th floor.
I guess the view is almost the same as it is from the 4th floor.

This was something we were really looking forward to so we spent some dollars here. We paid $40USD each and that included: canal entrance, IMAX movie, and the entrance for the Biomuseo. It was a bundle deal. This was such a great experience! We got here at 8:00am, right when they open, and saw several boats going in and through the canal. Highly recommended!

Normal fee now 20$ pp (observation deck, museum and movie). be aware that you can’t see transits all day. Usually only in the morning and in the afternoon. Try to check out the transition times before.
Open from 8.00-18.00
If you want to see the locks (almost) FREE: ask for a free ticket to go to the restaurant and enjoy the boats while having a drink (moderate priced). The view is almost the same and you can hear the explanations too.

Ça coûte encore 15$ US pour les touristes et ça vaut le déplacement. Musée interactif bien élaboré sur 4 niveaux. Chaque niveau a sa terrasse pour admirer le canal. Au 4e niveau, un animateur raconte le passage des paquebots en temps réel. On a vu 2 paquebots et trois voiliers, quelle chance!

Well worth a visit. Fast wifi inside. There are tables, resto, so you can work at ease. Boats pass by, but you might have ro wait a couple of hours depending on the schedule

$15 foreign adults to go to the observation deck, watch a video and get a tour of the place. We didn't go in because of the price. You can still see the locks from other points though.
