An alternative for those with a self-contained camper: open lot at the soccer field, edge of town. Level but dusty lot. Quiet apart from the typical dogs and roosters.

Quiet place with big flat areas. Slept 2 nights here without dust or wind issues (rainy season).
Report Check-InThere aren't many options to sleep in Samaipata. I think This is one of the best because is flat and quiet and there are a lot of place for pets.
No wind protection.
No hay demasiadas alternativas para dormir en Samaipata pero creo esta es la mejor. El terreno es plano y el ambiente tranquilo, dormimos súper bien!
Espacio amplio para mascotas, lo que si, no hay nada de reparo para el viento.
Slept three nights here, during day time we parked at the plaza.
It can get very windy here, and there's not really much possibility for you if you don't have a toilet in your rig.
Safe spot though, but not idyllic, and dusty and windy.
Hello
Rules number one ....never sleep in town a saturday night...
It was perfect but at 2 heures in the morning it was car with loud music and fire camp...
Normal.....it's the weekend party.
We must go away.
