Time of year definitely counts with this site. If you are going during snowmelt, the road becomes very muddy. I’ll post some pics. I am in a 4 x 4 with all-terrain tires, and I barely made it in. (The road going in is slightly uphill, which makes it harder. Getting out was a little easier, but still out of the question for a 2 wheel drive vehicle.) The ground was saturated everywhere, so even the sites themselves were a bit muddy, but not too bad. I think at a dryer time of the year this would be an amazing place to be. It’s totally clean, and there is a very nice outhouse. All of the sites have picnic tables, and most of them have fire rings. Zero AT&T signal, which didn’t surprise me, because I had no signal for about the entire hour before I got to the site.

5 miles from the main road to the campground.

the road in to the campground is wide and washboard rough but very doable. its been very dry and dusty, no water in the creeks. pit toilets very clean and dont smell at all! very peaceful. its probably 4 to 6 miles from the highway on armijo springs road. it felt like forever!
