Latest Check-Ins

The location is lovely, the attitude of the owner and the price is very blunt and expensive.
625 M pppn for camping, power 400 M per night!!! toilet paper still not included.
The only advantage is that it is very close to Peri Peri diving club.
It is ok for big rigs, only pay attention to the low power lines on the way to the camp, we are 3.6 m hight and could do it.

Report Check-In

Rather unsuitable for high "big rigs". The driveway from the N1 is an easily accessible sandy road. But in front of the entrance to the lodge there are low-hanging lines and we had to hoist one over the truck. Low-hanging branches at the reception and the access road to the campsite. Access to the campsite is also very steep. They wanted MZN 1360 to stay overnight in the parking lot at the reception. That was overpriced for us. Our vehicle is 3.8m high and almost 8m long.

Report Check-In

Beautiful camp on an amazing beach. Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it! 680 M pppn + 760 M if you opt for a beachfront camp with electricity and shade structure. Internet costs 25 M for each 250 MB only upstairs at restaurant's/bar/pool area, where there is fast cellular service too. But down near the beach phone service is good for messenging only. No vegetarian options at restaurant.

Report Check-In

Grassy campsite with beach sites and cheaper back sites. Bit Expensive, but ok. Food wasn’t great in the restaurant but nice bar for drinks. Friendly staff. Pay extra for wifi which is unfortunate.

Report Check-In

Definitely a very nice place to stay. We were alone for 3 days. The beach is wild which make the place even nicer!
Unfortunately the staff isn't very welcoming, no smile, you have the impression to bother the receptionist when you come to ask a question... AND they ask us to pay for the toilet paper! After talking to the owner finally they "offered" it.
3000 Metical for a Casita (with kitchen)
600 for camping

Report Check-In

In terms of feeling welcomed, this was the worst place ever … and the most complicated.
Camping sites ‚A‘ are spacious, lots of trees, but between chalets and not directly towards the beach. Grassy sites … which are in desperate need of beeing cut.
The last few hundred meters are narrow, ‚bushy’ and steep … doable also for a big rig, but not much of a margin … and once you are down on the camp ground there are just very few sites accessible for big rigs.

Report Check-In

Just an epic location right on the beach! Campsite 2 or 3 are the best, really a hidden gem between Tofo and Vilanculos.

Report Check-In

The most fantastic beach here. We camped 50m from the beach and had power and a Baracca. Definitely recommend if you love a beach holiday. Also Peri Peri divers is a short beach walk away if you want an amazing diving experience.

Report Check-In

Nice spot with lots of shade. Everything has a differnt price. At the low end, basic camping is 670pp & electricity 200/day. They were able to help us fill a small 10kg gas bottle (for a surcharge) I found no place in Moz that could fill a small bottle. Ocean is nice. No phone service at the camp, up at reception coverage is good. Was here at low season & only a few campers. They can hold up to 400ppl, high season here would be madness. Electricity if you have a long cord as it is only at select locations. Water was drinkable. Overall friendly helpful people :)

Report Check-In

Really beautiful place especially the view from the pool which is quite far from campsite up the dune/hill. Camping area itself is also very nice, well shaded with coconut trees and others. Price really varies a lot depending on season, seafront, lapa, barraca, electricity... very complicated! The cheapest option for today (which is considered high season because of SA holidays!!! 🙄) was 670 MZN ppn. Credit card accepted but with 3% fees. It was VERY disappointing to get to the toilet and realize there was no toilet paper.... It was also hot because the dune and trees don't really let any sea breeze through. No Vodacom signal at campsite itself but at reception / pool / restaurant are it has good Voda 4g signal. The most beautiful camping spots are the ones more to the north with individual lapas and seaview but quite expensive at this time.

Report Check-In

asked 840mt pp for camping without barracuda.
we left and went to the other lodge wich was 400mt pp

Report Check-In

Nice resort and beach. Shaded spots. WiFi is optional, only at the resolution and almost as expensive as mobile data.
Hot showers. Every spot had electricity, water and a braai.

MT 500 for a campsite. MT800 with barraca.

Report Check-In

This is a beautiful campsite. We were only here for two nights and had a little rain but can see why this is supposed to be of the top campsites in Moz. The sites are grassed with water, electricity and a braai. The ablutions are clean and the water is hot (turn down the flow of water to make it even hotter). The beach is lovely to explore. Nice pool area and putt-putt for the kids.

Report Check-In

We really loved this place because it was so close to the beach and there was lovely shaded and grassed campsites and we didn’t see any beach vendors. We loved the restaurant run by Lloyd, great fish and chips.
I would not like to be here during peak seasons but in low season it is amazing!

Report Check-In

Large campsite with a lot of options out of season. Directly on a stunning beach and lots of shade. Ablutions good and clean! Price (as indicated by others) is a bit high as we used a Baracca that was right on the beach so we didn’t mind paying for such a setting. We were however warned about possible petty theft during the night due to local traffic on the beach but we took the necessary precautions and a guard was on duty. No problems!

Report Check-In

Not recommendable. Do's and don'ts from the first moment. Not welcoming at all. Much too expensive.
Go to Bonito Bay instead.

Report Check-In

This is a very nice campsite right at the beach. The prices are too high. 660 MZN pppn. Plus 400 MZN if you want power. Plus 800 MZN when you want to use a lapa (simple grass roofed pavilion). No chairs or tables. For that price not even toilet paper is provided. There are hot gas showers. We had some strange flu like symptoms within about 5 hours of arrival. I can not proof that my conclusions are correct, but I feel that other travelers should be aware of this. Here the story: Friends of us stayed a few nights here about 3 weeks before we arrived. Within hours they developed strong flu like symptoms with fever. They got only better when they left. On the day we checked in, a group of 5 South Africans arrived and by evening they fell ill - same symptoms. We arrived at around 3 pm had a shower and by 10 pm were ill. The incubation period is extremely short so it is unlikely a flu. We have a suspicion that the water in the tank is contaminated with Legionella bacteria. This causes when having showers etc the Pontiac fever with strong flu like symptoms. The campsite is big, and there are many chalets all empty in low season. Therefore the water tank must be large and with very little throughput. This is when Legionella bacteria develop in warm water. The water should be tested but symptoms and mainly the short incubation period and the experience our friends had 3 weeks earlier point to the water as the source of infection. We can only urge the owners to get the water tested regularly and disinfect tanks and all piping asap.

Report Check-In

Large Campsite, only in one abolution warm water. A beach like on a postcard.

Report Check-In

During OFF season very enjoyable ! If it gets crowded could imagine getting very Smokey and loud.
Also a visit to the local village is recommended to have a drink at the bars, play pool and chat to the people.
The souvenir shop at the entrance also had reasonable prices compared to Vilankulos

Report Check-In

See pricelist attached as picture.
660 MC pppn, 400 MC extra for electricity, no toiletpaper provided, Movitel signal poor,
otherwise as described before, lovely beach with palmtrees

Report Check-In

Our second time camping here. We love it, view over sea from campsite no dune to climb like lots of campsites. Ablutions are clean. Taps at some sites but no scullery for washing

Report Check-In

This place is in wrong location - it is located at -23.23483, 35.49097

Report Check-In

A beautiful place and campground. A lots of trees and palms direct at the sea. The way down from the entrance to the campground has a lot of low hanging branches if you have a big rig. Maybe you have to cut it. Very romantic. Unfortunately it has the wrong coordinates over this long time and noone correct it. Sad. So we looked a long time and did a kind of wildcamping for two days near the right place of this campground, without knowing it. So now we reported it. Really worth it!!!

Report Check-In

Our second visit to this place. You can see some progress to the renovation after the cyclone, it should be finished in a few days. Price for camping was R150 pppn, which is a bit expensive for Mozambique, but the place is worth it.

Lots of space right at the beach, but only a few suitable for big rigs. Walk down to the camping area first and look around before you get stuck ;-)

If you have a 2WD camper, you might need help getting back up the hill.

Reasonable Vodacom signal at the camping site, good signal at the reception area.

Report Check-In

800 pppn is expensive.
Camping in a beautiful garden with lot of shade next to an amazing unspoilt beach and coast line. self catering chalets, barracas and camping. No restaurant or bar, electricity, cold shower, water taps. 15 km good sand road to the resort. nearby bonito bay resort has no no direct access to the beach as it is on top of the dune. very relaxing and quite place, a little, well maintained paradise

Report Check-In

We where there, but everybody was sleeping under tables and chaires. Lady was not so friendly.
The place looks still a mess after the storm.
The asked 500Mt pp wich is far to much.
No visitors there. They all where at Bonito Beach Resort. So, that is the place to go......... Looks much better for the same price!

Report Check-In

The pricenow is 670 meticals pp in low season. Pool has no water, restaurant is broken down because of the hurricane and the bar area is deserted. Didnt stay here as the other option 3km further south has a much better offer (500 pp with access to one of the bungalows for toilet/shower, working pool amd restaurant/bar).

Report Check-In

720 metical pppn, hot showers. the restaurant / bar does not
operate, as it was damaged and still is from the cyclon in february. no dive center, i guess it only operates in december. huge campsite with space for many campers. would not want to be here if very crowded. fresh bread available from locals in the morning from the village.

Report Check-In

At 780 meticals pppn this place is expensive but it's gorgeous and well worth the money. Beautifully shaded and well kept pitches with braai pits, seconds from the ocean. The beach is so nice and wide and much quieter than resorts further north. We walked for over two hours and had the place to ourselves. Friendly and efficient staff. Good ablutions - clean and hot water. They have power and barracas for extra cost. Also self catering chalets. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

it is a really nice place, directly in the water. here one finds everything to be happy.

Report Check-In

The lodge looked very nice, restaurant, swimming pool, grassy campsite, dive center.
Low season price is 600 metical pppn. We found it a bit expensive so we stayed at the Bonito Bay lodge a few kilometers away.
