Something not right?

Description

This is the dirt road turn off which leads to many, many dispersed campsites. There are some within a mile, and many more about 4 miles further on the left turns. Some have shade and grass. Great area to spend a night or several days. Quiet. 14 day stay limit posted. We saw trailers and motor homes back in there that had made it down the roads. Also tents. There is a pit toilet at the turn off, but nothing back in the woods. There are a few cow ponds and a small stream. This main road is not passable in winter, however. But you can still get to the first parking area.

We went on fathers day weekend. There were a lot of people. however, there are a lot of sites to stay at. We took the road fr092 and found a beautiful spot at a higher elevation. it was gorgeous!

Stayed one night. Its so frustrating to see all of these camp trailers just sitting here taking up all of the spots, no one camping, no one in the trailers, they are just left as a placeholder.

Cooler weather and higher elevation, 7,763. Wide open spaces with greenery everywhere. Lush and beautiful!

The road here is passable when wet, but some campsites are fairly muddy. There’s a little bit of highway noise but not bad if you go further back. Nice and quiet on a weeknight.

Report Check-In

Tons of dispersed camping down gravel road. Lots of RVs

Stopped here for the night. Big parking lot with a vault toilet right off the road. I'm sure there are better spots further down the forest road but this worked just fine.

lots of places. beautiful scenery. good T-mobile service near the bathroom. no service farther up the road. park far from road to minimize road noise. construction vehicles were operating early near the road too.

Stayed at first area on the left by the pit toilet because the rest of the road is still closed due to snow. Speaking of the pit toilet, it’s pretty gross and almost filled up, but hey at least there is a toilet! Also was woken up early by some dirt bikers/snowmobilers zooming around us and revving their engines. But I didn’t set an alarm so it was actually okay, and they didn’t stay too long anyway. Also AT&T has 2 bars of LTE service but Verizon gets no reception. Pretty view though, and I expect if we could have driven farther from the highway, it would have been nice and peaceful.

Beautiful place. Plenty of nice spots to choose from.

Great spot! A lot of trailers already parked at the campsites. We stayed at the turn off next to the pit-toilet, enough space no problem.
