Next to the last marker known as “beside cerritos inn” quiet spot before the sign that says no cars. We’ve spent two nights here without issue and came back for another couple of nights.
One small trailer parked next to us! Zofemat came by in the morning to check for trash and qrongdoings but didn’t bother us. You aren’t camping at the beach but some meteres from it.
If you do come by please pick up after yourself, any toilet paper or human waste left here will spoil this spot for all of us like most of cerritos. Bring a shovel and a trash bag.
There’s enough spot for a couple of big rigs and you don’t need 4wd to get here.
Please take care of the beach and the spot.

🚨⚠️ for the higher parking lots on the dunes with a view: I stood here with others for one night, the others even longer. Unfortunately, on the second day, a (non-Mexican) man came with three others in a white pickup truck (with a Canadian license plate and a Texas sticker) and told us to get off his property real quick. he wanted to call the police and we only had 10 minutes. When I asked if he had the papers or proof that it was his property, he very aggressively threatened to break my legs if I didn't keep my mouth shut. An hour later there was still no police there, but the pickup truck continued to drive around the area.
There is no proof that he is the owner of the property. There are no signs posted either.
We would have liked to stay there and actually planned to, but we were afraid that someone would come at night and damage our cars because the four people were very, very, very aggressive.
We then moved on to the small beach further down behind the fence to the so-called private property.
Report Check-InI am here as I write this review. March 1...travel time is here. Camping is great, nice Beach area...however it is pretty full. I count 11 vans, 2 class A, 2 full size schoolies, 1 toy hauler and a couple pickups fitted for camping... if u squeeze in you can fit a couple more small vans. Approx 100 meters south is a bluff a couple vans are parked on. If u plan on coming here soon, park and scout before pulling in to make sure you like the space. A travel trailer will have a hard time getting out of here. Other the weather is great, sun is out and the sand is soft.
Report Check-InThis place is crowded with RV (15 while I was there) in the wash. More spaces just south of this spot and also crowded (8) considering that there is only a few spots where you can park. We tried the burger at the Cerritos Beach Inn’s restaurant which was excellent. No surf at this exact location. You have to walk 1.3 km to the Cerritos Beach to get good surfing waves. Not really a swimming beach either at this location.
Report Check-InGood free spot just south of Playa Cerritos. Close to the beach with good cell signal.
Report Check-InGreat views, lots of whales sited. Somewhat windy, and be careful swimming, the undertow is strong. Good restaurant on the beach.
Report Check-Inwe stayed 2 nigths and felt super safe and beautiful, however there were full of vans...
Report Check-InSmall parking lot at the public beach: 1 minutes from the ocean and a fabulous beach! Far enough from the busy places but close enough to walk to it if you want to.
You could park on the hill, but some were told to leave because of a private property. You can be lucky and don’t see anyone or can be asked to leave. The public beach is down the hill.
Report Check-InGreat place, nice location with ocean view. 5 other vans. Easy access.
Bien lugar frente a la playa, gratuito, agarra telcel. Saludos
Report Check-InUse the gps coordinates to get here. Great spot. Surf was pounding! Two wheel drive to get in but near the beach watch out for soft spots. Spent one night here and only one other rig.
Report Check-InNext to Cerritos beach which is crowded I am here with no one around; primitive camping but with good cell service
Report Check-InWe could not access the beach so we drove a bit farther north on the dirt road and parked in an empty dirt lot between two rental properties. Beach access just over the dune. We pitched a tent and were alone the whole night. You can hear the waves and nothing else.
