Latest Check-Ins

Parrots Peak drive according to the sketch, the last 4 km are gravel road but suitable for any vehicle, drive carefully after rain, washouts, a few low hanging trees and a bit small road. It's not a real campsite, it's a large gravel place not 100% leveled. You can get long cable for electricity and also connect water. Some things are not finished yet, there is no dumping for tanks. The owner couple Laurie and Bill are super friendly and will help you with everything. You have new friends or family when you leave. The property is large, a great view, lots of birds, a great pool with shaded areas, colorful casita soon to be rented, warm shower, toilet, everything is super well maintained and clean. Bring enough food with you, but you can also have Bill bring you something from the town. You stay longer than you think. We stayed here for 7 nights, it is incredibly dark and quiet. 40 BZ per night. We left with a sad eye because it was so beautiful and we also took turns meeting other overlanders here. Thanks a lot Laurie and Bill - New Friends.

We spent some wonderful days here. We are happy to confirm the previous comments. We found Laurie and Bill to be very friendly and helpful hosts. The two have created a little paradise in the middle of the jungle. The somewhat demanding journey is definitely worth it. @team-bodyduck

The first map you will see in photos is blurry, but the second map is better.

Beautiful place and lovely, open-minded people. The infrastructure is pretty new. Bill even helped us to fix something on our RV and gave us some parts. I absolutely recommend this place!
The road there is not in a great shape but doable without 4x4. We have a vehicle that is 2.6m wide and touched some light branches on the side, but nothing serious. When reaching Parrots Peak you're rewarded with a beautiful view and probably some parrots flying by.
The only downside is that there's not yet a real dumping station. Nevertheless, we managed to dump.

This place feels like an oasis in the jungle. Laurie and Bill are such lovely people. We didn't want to leave the pool, because the temperature was ideal and the few feom the pool is amazing. But the best thing about staying here was the good meal and the interesting and funny conversation in the evening. We really recommend you to come and stay with Bill and Laurie.

The road up is a dirtroad but doable for a normal vehicle.

Report Check-In

We came for one night and stayed three nights. Awesome place to camp when either getting ready to enter Guatemala or after having just crossed the border into Belize. Level area to park both small and big rigs (in the shade or sun). Very secure with a locked gate, it was extremely quiet at night.

They have a beautiful pool with an excellent view of the surrounding jungle. In the pool area there is a change room, washroom, dish cleaning station (hot water) and outdoor shower (hot water as well) which are all extremely clean. We spent 3 days by the pool, no bugs, good internet (good speed both by the pool and in the truck), table and chairs, shade sails over pool, and umbrella over table. It was a fantastic place to beat the heat, get caught up on things and do some work/research on the trip.

The hosts Laurie and Bill are excited to share their piece of paradise and were very accommodating. Laurie is an amazing cook and was kind enough to invite us to dinner.

They have three beautiful dogs, they mentioned they are good with other dogs. They kept them in at night so there was no barking to worry about, as I mentioned super quiet at night.

The road up is a little rough but if you take it slow (fine for two wheel drive) you won't be disappointed. As mentioned google maps doesn't give the correct information, we emailed ahead of time and they actually met us in the village so we could follow them up. On our way out we used MapsMe which worked fine.
