Description

We were so surprised that this beautiful Hacienda (ranch) was not listed in iOverlander yet. This place is so beautifully build and mainainted, the view over the Cotopaxi is fantastic and they have a truly fantastic restaurant (with 24-hours slow-cooked ribs!). They have won many prices with their cows, the offer horse riding tours and there are a lot of other animals.

We were traveling with our Overlander vehicle as a group of 4 for a week, so we booked a room and for an additional 10 USD we were able to camp in our car. They mentioned that they are definitely open for more overlanders to visit, since it of course also generation different revenue for dining etc. The parking areas do have a few horizontal areas, although that might look different at first.

After 4,5 months of travel this, this places was one of our top-5 camping and dining locations.

Today the gate was locked and no one answered the door. We left. 4pm.

We feel so fortunate to have found this place! We stayed four nights and could’ve stayed longer. We parked on the grass in the corner of the parqueadero. We were able to get level with our GoTreads leveling blocks. The view of the mountains was incredible. We watched the horse run two times a day and were serenaded by the donkey in the field next doors. There were also llamas and baby calves. Caspian loved the playground, adjacent to the camping area. We had two dinners in the restaurant. That is where the bathrooms are located for campers. One time during our stay, they opened one of the houses so we could shower. I’m not sure they would always do this, but probably yes if you ask nicely and one of the apartments is empty. There is a piano in the restaurant that I played one afternoon, as well as billiards and a ping pong table. At night, the fireplace by the sofas is lit. All in all, just a delightful experience. $10/night.
