Got in around 4:30pm, there were 3 out of 7 sites still open. Dirt road, semi easy to drive through with our rear wheel drive van. Bumpy in sections and not the most flat. Plenty of trees and bushes around for some cover. There was a forest service car that drove through while there. We did feel safe. Verizon & Spectrum service (2-3 bar). Worst part about this area is the amount of trash. Both sites 5 and 6 were filled with glass, cans, plastic bags, toilet paper and even…. Human poop. Maybe we got the local party spot idk… this was bad.
Report Check-InThere are 7 numbered campsites on this narrow rutted little dirt road. Big rigs will not be able to even turn around. Small trailers will be fine if you're good. High clearance is a plus, the road is a bit rocky at times. But regular cars with adventurous drivers were there too.
The dirt road continues on past site #7, but legal camping does not. None of the sites are level, some laughably unlevel.
Higher altitude than Prescott & cooler (in May 76°F here vs 82°F in Prescott). Much cooler than Sedona. A bit windy at times. Both sun & shade from trees/bushes.
The campsite dirt is rich with decades of little bits of tiny trash, please help by picking up and hauling out some little plastic bits, glass, campfire nails, etc.
1 bar Verizon, so phone call was difficult & weak internet. Better at night, & if you move around to find a good signal spot. Still, happy to be here. Thanks to iOverlander for the find.
