Latest Check-Ins

The landslide repaired now. The street is fine.

Report Check-In

The road is now much wider. It’s still gravel and at quite an incline that makes it a bit tough with a heavy vehicle after rain. But large trucks are going up and and I saw motorbikes go up to with no problems. It’s 1 dollar to pass as the new road has been constructed by locals over private property. A fair price for the huge amount of work they have done and because there is no other easy way around

Report Check-In

Still fixing main road. Bumpy detour. $1

Report Check-In

Passed through the quick diversion going southbound. 1 USD for the pleasure, but no waiting time. Will take many months until the works here are finished by my impression, but it is perfectly passable.

Report Check-In

I rode through this section of the Panamerican Highway today without any problems.

I guess it's been fixed.

Report Check-In

They are still fixing this road. 1 euro to enter. It was very stressfull

Report Check-In

We took the detour with our truck camper (heading south) and had no issues. The road is quite bumpy in places, and it drops you off in town, which is the most confusing part as there are no good signs and the town is quite tight for larger vehicles. We ended up taking a one way the wrong way to get back up to the Panamamerican. Pretty much any size vehicle should be ok. There are a few very tight turns along the route. It took us about 45 min from leaving PanAm to getting back on it. There was one 'toll' very early on, we said we didn't have any change and we drove on, did not seem to be an issue. The scenery along the drive is quite nice.

Report Check-In

This is the start of the deviation. I tried cycling up on the PanAmericana first but before I got to the landslide I was told I would not be able to get through even on a bicycle. Cars were also being allowed through the diversion, which was a winding gravel road mostly downhill. In some places it was too narrow for two cars which caused a little backup. There seemed to be some kind of stop/toll system operated by locals but I was not asked to pay anything on a bicycle. The main downside for touring cyclists is that this takes you down into the valley and then you have to climb back up again.

Report Check-In

Por la tarde abren el camino a las 5 (no sé si en la mañana abran paso). Ya pasaron las máquinas así que el camino está en buen estado. Piden una donación voluntaria.

Report Check-In

There was a traffic jam of cars when I arrived here. They are letting bikes and motorbikes through, but the policeman said no cars (except resident I think). It looks like buses and through traffic are taking the E487 and then cutting across a rough road to Alausi from the NW

Report Check-In

The bypass road is open and can be driven with any vehicle. It is a winding gravel road. We where charged 2 USD toll when we drove through the small town. We are not sure if it's legit as we did not get a factura when we asked.
