Latest Check-Ins

This is an RV park vs a campground. I arrived at this park and learned that you must have an RV to stay there. No car sleeping allowed. Although there is a multi sectioned sports field parking lot right next door that I stayed at overnight with no problems. No sign, saying you cannot park overnight

Not sure what it is about Texas state parks; but I fail to see how fees are being spent. The fees are reasonable, park is basic, nothing special other than it’s near a lake & sporting fields. The woman working the office was rather miserable and unwelcoming. Never been to prison but the showers may trigger those that have. Men’s restroom stalls have shower curtains (or what’s left of a shower curtain) as doors.
With all due respect; please do better!

I decided to stay again for two nights as it is super cold in Texas right now. Feels very safe for a solo female traveler. Just a heads up that the laundry is closed until further notice because they are working on something in that building. This place is about less than a mile from the Denton Katy Trail that go all the way to Denton. I biked it today, it is about 15 miles and took me 1 hour. It is a fun town to check out and the trail is really nice

Also check in is 3pm and check out is 1pm. The office is open until 6pm every day so make sure to check in before then.

This is the cheapest campground I found in the area. It is right on the lake with stunning views. $20 for regular site, $10 senior regular site, $22 for a premium site, $11 senior premium site. Not sure what makes a site premium but this was such a nice campground that I might have to stay another night. All sites have water and electric and there is a dump station on the way out of the campground. The south bathhouse was under construction, but the north one was very nice and clean. They also said there is laundry but I didn’t check that out while I was here. This time of year I was able to come in and get a site same day but I bet in the summer this place is packed. 14 day limit

Hard to beat for $20. Right beside Lewisville Lake with plenty of room to get out and walk around/walk the dogs. Worked of a VPN here so service is pretty good. Showers and Laundry on site.
