Description

If you are taking this “shortcut” to go see the Macaws and spider Monkeys you need to know the road is in very bad shape. It’s basically a gravel road with loads of potholes and Intermittent pavement. Our average speed is about 20km/ hr. Plan accordingly.

The road is indeed in bad shape, but you can do it. We did it with our 2wd, low clearance rented car. But you have to drive slowly and very carefully : lots of potholes, some gravel parts, even one part were the road has collapsed (you can still pass) and one where fell tree blocked it (we could took another path by the village). Didnt check exaclty the time, but we took more than hour to join Reforma Agraria from the north, a little less to leave it by south and join the 307.

Report Check-In

This road is in absolute normal condition for a Mexican country road. Doable for all types of vehicles. We drove it with our 2wd Sprinter, no issues at all. Also hight 3,5m no issues.

dont minimize. the road IS bad. way worst than the other side (307 -> Guacamayas). but a bad road doesn't mean you can't drive. you just have to drive slowly, multiply but 2 or 3 your estimated time arrival. and be arrefull with the holes hidden in the tree's shade

Nothing special. As good or as bad as everywhere at the lonely countryside. Tar, rough road, some potholes and branches. Happy to have some tar, usually you don’t have it in such regions.
