Something not right?

Description

New Auberge or Hotel right before the border if you go from Cameroon to Congo Brazzaville. I tried the 2 other hotels of the village but this one is much better. The hotel also has a second building next to it with a snack bar that looks more like a night club but there was no-one. The music was loud enough to hear it from the room. The restaurant was not operational yet. 5000cfa for a room with double bed and private toilet. The shower was new but was not yet connected so there is a bucket. It's clean even if rooms smell like cigarettes, but it was much better than Auberge Embassade and Auberge CEMAC. There is a cheap local restaurant in front of the hotel.

10k room with fan, bucket shower/toilet, netting on windows and clean sheets/floors. What’s the catch? Asked what time electricity was on, 7pm-3am, generous I thought. Turns out it was for the bar/club at the entrance end of the complex. Music was so loud. Went on until 3am and then people up and making noise at 5:30, so only got an hours sleep. It was Sunday, so maybe clarify with the owners before booking. Otherwise go elsewhere.

Not possible to sleep in our car had to rent a room. Very unfriendly lady

This was a last resort after a very long drive. Avoid if possible.
No sink to wash hands, no shower just bucket of water in corner, no water for toilet, no electricity as generator is broken.
Go to well for water to wash hands or bring back to flush toilet.
I would have continued driving if I was so tired.

its true they play music pike in many places, but get a room in the back and its not the worst. I got a room for 5k without a fan. the other hotel is similar, but doesnt have the mosquito net at the window

Ok. Enter here at your peril. Room was cleaned on arrival so we at least had a clean sheet. Bathroom basic with a bucket shower and loo with usual missing seat. Bathroom dirty and had to use bucket water to flush loo. No AC and the electricity only came on when the staff and locals who hung around inside decided they wanted booming music till 2am. Up until 9pm no power so no tv lights or fan. Charged 10,000 CFA for two in 1 room. No restaurant and although it has secure parking they didn’t close gates and switched off generator (power) when they decided to sleep. Appalling place I would avoid.

Basic hotel, with parking, a couple of hundred metres before the Congo border. We paid 6,000cfa. No running water. Bucket shower. Generator from 6pm to around midnight, at which point your room fan stops.

Food is available, as are vaguely cool beers.

Seems like best of a middling bunch.

The rooms are as described and the food is great. But it’s Clinton the hotel manager and Fabiola the cook who make this place one of our best memories on this trip: Our car broke down 2 km before the hotel. We ended up staying 3 days before we could continue, and every day Clinton went out of his way to help us. Including getting a spare part from Yaoundé transported to the village. Super trustworthy guy - what a star!

Report Check-In

All as described - friendly helpful staff - basic rooms. I paid 10,000 CFA.

Very nice and clean. We took the “VIP” rooms for 10 000 CAF. Had a fan on the roof, toilet with bucket to flush, bucket bath, nice firm and clean bed, a table and couch. Power was on until around 1/2am.

Snack bar plays music until late, but it’s not too bad. People are really friendly and it’s a great place to stay! MTN store for SIM cards is just around the corner, and there are places to eat everywhere.
