Something not right?

Description

What a stunning gem right next to downtown, with a running creek and a porta potty. It’s a small parking lot but pretty empty at dusk. Really quiet and you can hear the water running.
There are also flushing toilets a block away, plus all the bars, shops and cafes.
Blowing Rock is a cute town!!
There is a sign that says no comercial overnight, so if your rig is not marked and it’s not commercial, you’ll be fine.

Latest Check-Ins

I spent the night here last night with no issues. there is only the sign that says no commercial vehicles overnight. it was a Saturday night and when I got here around 10:00 p.m. there were quite a few cars in the lot. I could hear a bunch of younger people laughing and having a good time, then around midnight all the one car left.
if anyone else did come by during the night, they did not knock or bother me. it's a nice paved parking lot with a decent amount of space for vehicles under 21'. It seems like a nice safe neighborhood. I'll admit it's the trailhead to my least favorite type of trail which is a hike down the hallway and then steep uphill the whole way back. there is still a porta potty and tons of amenities in town right nearby.

Wow! What an awesome place to stay. Everything as described in other reviews. Quiet, secluded, 2min walk to restaurants and shops. Stayed for 3 nights while waiting for the rain to stop. No one bothers me. Some hikers coming and going in the morning and afternoon, but all were quiet and friendly. I’m just wondering if this place will get shut down if it gets too popular in the busy season. Anyway, it is a true gem while it lasts.

Such a gem! Exactly as stated and even better in person! Tends to fill during the day but empties in the later evening. This spot is better than some dispersed spots I’ve stayed in!

Report Check-In

Exactly as stated. Nice little park right next to Main Street (downtown). Only commercial vehicles are prohibited here.

Incredible!!! I was nervous at first but after visiting those nasty rv parks I decided it's worth the risk. Beautiful garden to read, meditate and have your coffee! it was so quite!!! there is also a hike to two waterfalls that you can take on the morning. I have a 19' van so I'm not sure what all you could get down here. definitely at least a class b & c.

small parking lot by a trailhead in the middle of a small town. no problems, very quiet and peaceful.

Report Check-In

We had a very quiet night here. Had the small parking lot to ourselves after dark. We parked perpendicular to the parking spots beside the babbling brook.
Woke up to birds singing.
The hike was great but rated strenuous with a 600’ elevation gain.
Walking distance to town. Great spot for smaller rv.
