Description

We are crossing the border with the US tomorrow and we needed a safe yet central spot in Mexicali to do some diligences before the border. This plaza is the one next to “plaza San Pedro” with the Walmart but the one with the Walmart has a cost per hour, instead this one is completely free and has security going around the parking lot 24/7. There is a Starbucks and a spa center where you can get free Wi-Fi in the van. It is big rig friendly since there is no height limit but turns and spaces in the parking lot are not meant for huge vehicles as you might imagine so take that into consideration. Our ford transit had no problem tough.
In the adjacent plaza San Pedro you can also find a Office Depot to print stuff for the border if you need.
Night was quiet but consider there are two big avenues near that have some car noise. We felt safe. Toilets available at Starbucks if you don’t mind asking

Good spot for the night and thanks for the good description! We spent one night here, it is fairly busy even into the evening but it made it feel safe and there was enough room we could park our motorhome across two spaces without being an inconvenience. Later we were able to move closer to the Starbucks for wifi. It was a bit noisy though with activity through the night. We were unlucky enough to have a shop alarm going off that night as well.
