This is a native community offering tourism services. Archeological excavation, museum, guided tour, beautiful natural swimming pool. Entrance 5$ p/p. Beautiful and extremely nice people. They are happy to receive overlanders. Bathroom, cold shower, free wifi. I am not sure about power. Quiet, no traffic no through road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Still $5 pp. Friendly community. The sulphur pool kinda smells of rotten eggs, normal for its composition, just a heads up.
We were here on a Monday and it was very quiet. We slept by the pool.
Quite place, clean bathrooms, fee wifi, $5pp park entrance, you can spend the night near the museum or by the sulphurous water Pool.
Report Check-InHermoso lugar y muy bien recibidos por los habitantes de la comunidad. Nuestros hijos compartieron clase con los niños en la escuela. Estacionamos nuestra camper frente a la Laguna. Baños limpios, instalaciones accesibles a toda hora.... mucha tranquilidad. Muy recomendable.
Report Check-Inthis place is amazing and somewhere a bit different. the local people are so friendly and welcoming. you pay $5 at the entrance on the main road and can visit everything and stay overnight. I also imagine they would have no problem you staying more than one night. the pool and mud feels great afterwards even if it smells a bit. the restaurants and shops are really cheap. the museum is basic but interesting. it's a lovely place to explore for a day or two. WiFi only by the museum. you can use showers and toilets by the pool.
Stay by the water tower for amazing views. drive left up the side of the museum up the steep hill until you get to the top.
Report Check-InFriendly people, warm sulfur lagoon, calm and quiet night with plenty of crickets and birds to get you asleep. We slept on the parking lot next to the lagoon.
Report Check-In5 dollar entrance fee to the comunity.
Had a lunch for 3,5$ (vegetarian). Visited the museum and went to the pool qhere i too a massage fir 15$ (25mn). Relaxing. The cafés next tomthe pool are very friendly and quite cheap.
As the campung is not accesi le with the van i asked where to sleep and they told me close to the water tank up from the museum was ok.
The view is not bad at all...
Enjoy
This place is great! When you go to the museum a guide will show you around the museum and to the laguna, which is in fact a natural sulphur pool. They offer you to stay/camp at the laguna, a super chill place with 2 shops/foodstands (beers, coco helado and snacks). Don't miss the mirador, you can spot it in the trees at the laguna. We also had a great lunch in the towns restaurant (the one where you have to walk up the stairs) in a nice jungle setting. Meals are 4,5 - 5$
