Description

Chakra: The Red Dragon
Currently, it is a house of/for cyclists, who travel through Argentina.
A very nice place, surrounded by a lot of green since the owner of the place, Lili, has a nursery.
Ideal to spend a night, and continue with the tour.
The place has:
*drinking water
*Kitchen (bottled gas stove)
*bathroom (shower, toilet, bidet, vanity)
*hot water (bottled gas heater)
*dining/living room
The hostel for cyclists, does not charge money. There is a box, where one contributes, to cover expenses (gas / light / wifi, etc).

*agua potable
*cocina (anafe a gas envasado)
*baño (ducha, inodoro, bidet, vanitory)
*agua caliente (calefón a gas envasado)
*comedor/sala de estar
El albergue para ciclistas, no cobra dinero. Hay una caja, donde uno contribuye, para solventar gastos (gas/luz/wifi, etc).

Latest Check-Ins

the place is good, nice and quiet. Please respect common sleeping and cooking timmings. Not nice if other cyclists start cooking at 11:30pm in a shared room where other cyclists are sleeping.

Perfect spot to rest up. A beautiful cabin run by Lily where you can lay out your mat. Kitchen and bathroom with hot shower. Donation based. Slow wifi available next to the main house. Bring supplies from town!

Nice little house for cyclists in Eden's Garden. Lili and Nahuel are welcoming. Basic installations that do the job: hot shower (but thin water debit), two small gas stoves, large table, sink... Certainly does the trick for a night or two, for two or three cyclists at most. 7km outside of El Bolsón, so you'll have to be ready to cycle more, or to hitchhike (works so so).
Additional plus: the whole family knows a lot about cycling and hiking trips, they helped me repair my gas stove, and provided help repairing difficult bike problems of the Spanish guy that was with me. So helpful and knowledgeable, learnt a lot from that.

I’d also suggest to iOverlander if I knew how that a category for casa ciclista / refugio would be really useful.

I stayed here. Its a great place. The owners a really lovely. Technically not a wild camp but it is a casa ciclista for use exclusively by cyclists and is free of charge as such. The owners have toured on bicycles their whole life and have cycled all around argentina and chile. They have a lot of knowledge about routes on the continent and have ridden some tough tours. They are hardened bike tourists for sure. They also know alot about hiking trails in the region and beyond. The previous review is correct that in everything stated. But I notice iOverlander has questioned the validity of this as a wild camp which I guess is technically correct. I would recommend this place to any cycle tourists who know about the hospitality of a proper casa ciclista and need a place to stay for a night or two. It was perfect for me arriving towards el bolson very late almost dark, no street lights and heavy rain forecast imminently. I spent the whole next day and another night. Wood is available for the fire stove and Lili offered me to pick fruit as I wanted to from the garden. I believe they will go on a tour themselves during the winter and hope the shelter will be open to anyone passing in the much colder months!
