Description
Northbound Rest Area on I-26. A lot of road noise, not a lot of space, but seems safe. Did have a late night/early morning interaction with a gentleman seeking money/ride. Seems safe, if this was a one-off experience.

Pulled in about 10:00PM to rest for a few hours. Driving a small van, parked a few spots down from direct street light, near a few other vans/trucks. Had an older gentleman “Anthony” loudly beat the side of my van at 2:15AM. Thinking it may have been night security, opened the door and he began explaining a story of a car accident and having a wife and kids and needing money or a ride to NC. Proceeded to firmly tell him no multiple times before he moved on to the next van to repeat his process. Unsure if this is a normal occurrence, as there are posted signs on how to handle emergencies at any hour (911 and *HP). Left immediately following this interaction as I no longer felt comfortable or safe knowing he was outside wandering between mine and others’ vehicles.
Report Check-InSmaller rest area but it worked for a full night's sleep. Noisy as it's close to the highway and there's one lane for trucks, RVs, cars and all other vehicles but we slept surprisingly well.
