Important : we didnt sleep here but had coffee in the morning and stayed until lunch.
Its a huge quarry surrounded by trees. Easy to hide your rig from road, big enough for 20 or 30 trucks ... We wanted to recomend the place regarding the lack of decent wild camping spot in the area.
We dont think there will be any problem sleeping here as we wildcamped 25 km north of here, literally next to the road, and nobody cared about us. It was not too wet when we were there, but still very soft. If it is raining it will be a huge mud pit

A few corrections on the post here…first, agree 💯 that it is a really great spot. We didn’t see any people at all. Corrections: room for not 20-30 trucks, but 200-300 or more. Also, definitely not a refuge from the little black flies. But all in all, a really great spot to camp. We went to the very back left as far as you can go. It is actually pretty close to the road there, but absolutely hidden.
Report Check-InReally nice place to stay and sleep. No mosquitoes in the evening and no flies in the morning.
Close to the elephant road, we drove there early in the morning and meet some chimpanzees
We slept here very next to the road because we got there very late.
No problem at all and traffic on the road that was visible from where we parked was very little.
The chief of village came to greet us in the morning. We share a cup of tea around the tail gate and waved good bye.
Very nice place for a night on iur way up North.

We spent one night here, it‘s a nice place hidden from the road. After dark, a guy who lives across the road came to say hi, he saw our lights and fire and wondered who was here. He was very friendly and wished us a nice stay. The next morning at 5.30am, the first people started passing by to go work in the forest. All friendly and curios. You can definitely wild camp here but you will have visitors ☺️ one big plus: no black flies and only few mosquitoes
