Really beautiful and lovely place with friendly staff. The toilets and shower facility is 5 star quality. Food and service is excellent! Welcome drinks served when we arrived. The morning before we left we got treated with pan cakes and mango juice! The garden is immaculate. A place you have to visit.

Friendly staff, beautiful camping site and good food.

our second stay at this amazing campsite. Can't recommend it enough. Beautiful gardens and outstanding ablutions ( like a spa !) The staff are amazing and Victoria the manager is so helpful. Best campsite we've stayed in !

Beautiful and quite luxurious camp site.
The kitchen and laundry area are the best I have seen so far.
Staff is fantastic and even brought me an umbrella when it rained.
I was allowed to pitch my tent under the roof of the laundry area to get out of the rain.

I asked about the loop around Kili and their guide Emanuel was happy to give some tips and advice for free. He was very friendly and speaks perfect English.

We have spent over 10 months in Africa and this is the nicest campsite we have been to in terms of facilities. Absolutely stunning. The staff were amazing.
We paid $15 per person per night. Totally worth it.
Can’t recommend enough! We can’t wait to go back!!

camp site for overnight stay close to kilimanjaro

Report Check-In

Loved this place! Nicest outdoor kitchen area and ablutions that we have seen in Africa. Beautiful garden and lovely staff. The mountain even peeped out of the clouds for us. Strong free wifi in the lounge area.

To make it short after the previous reviews: It is our third stay and definitely the best campground we have seen in many months in Africa.

A stunning campsite worthy of a few days stay. We were only here one night but loved it. The staff are incredibly helpful, and the fit and finish of everything is top notch. They even prepared a fire for us.

Check with them about the drains though as I had a little issue in the men's, but that was it. Would highly recommend this place.

Yes, yes, yes! As others have commented this has to rate up there as one of the best. Super friendly local staff, Victoria and Bellis particularly, immaculate gardens, buildings and outstanding ablutions. We missed the turn off sign on the main road but found it via some roughish little back roads. The only drawback for us was the very long time it took from placing the order to our dinner arriving in the little banana tree shaded restaurant area; my chicken schnitzel dinner was served with cold chips on a cold plate. We wanted a bottle of dry red wine, but because it was not clear on the wine list what we got was a bottle of sweet red. That was soon forgotten by the nice surprise the next morning of a glass of fruit juice and a plate of bananas being brought to our camping table. A huge amount of thought, effort and money has gone into this amazing place. Well done to the owners and staff; we like others elected to stay an extra day or two and wonder if any other camp site can beat this lovely spot!

Loved our stay at Tulivu! Amenities are a real treat - we planned to stay for one night but ended up staying another. Enjoyed the beautiful gardens and birdlife around. Staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Great to have power points and wifi at the campsite! Loved the bonfire prepared each night - met wonderful fellow travellers. Can recommend!

Amazing place, all is available and looks beautiful what you might need after some time of overlanding. With view on Kilimanjaro!

Campsite set in a gorgeous tropical garden. Feels like an oasis. We initially were going to stay 1 night but the place was so nice that we stayed for 3.

Victoria and her staff could not have been nicer. Ablutions were very swanky!! Restaurant made tasty, well priced food. Small breakfast is included in the price ($15pppn) - nothing substantial but really nice touch. Communal bonfire made every night which is nice to sit by. They have a viewpoint from the ablution roof of Kilimanjaro and we were lucky enough to see it a few times.

We went for a run a couple of days in the neighbourhood and everyone was very friendly.

Heaven if you’ve been traveling for a while and live in a truck. Victoria and her staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much for them. Had our laundry done. Amazing 10* ablutions. Camped on the lawn surrounded by a tropical garden. Restaurant serves good food and we loved the samosas. Breakfast is a treat. We stayed an extra day. Went for a guided cycle in the forest. A very special experience. The in house guide Manual gave us good sight seeing tips and. We enjoyed his evening calls and chats

Report Check-In

A campsite with good amenities. The ablutions are top-class! There is a large lawn where a fire is lit at night. Wi-fi is available in a lounge with sofas. A lunatic preacher with amplification broadcasts during the evening, but shuts up before bedtime. The generator is off at night. The camp site itself has only one tree for shade and no bench or table. But there is shade in the bar, with irritating music. Expensive @ US$ 15.

In addition to my earlier comment: a friendly, extremely helpful and supportive team!

Report Check-In

I cannot add much to the other comments, the nicest place I found during the past weeks travelling through Tanzania with a truck. It's well prepared even for bigger motorhomes with all facilities. The place is a bit difficult to find and the last bit of the street unpaved. After 24 hours rain the truck was hopelessly stuck, but the whole staff was extremely nice and very helpful with all meins. Full recommendation!

We came for one night and stayed for 5 camping. Apart from the amazing facilities which makes this close to a camping hotel - we want to emphasize the great care the manager and staff takes to make our stay special. They don't go the extra mile - they go much further. Great stay, great people. Absolutely recommended. (Talk to them also about exploring the area. They are good at that too!)

Report Check-In

c'est un superbe endroit. les installations sont haut de gamme. le personnel est au petit soin et le restaurant est bon et pas cher. service impeccable. nous devions y rester une nuit et sommes restés une semaine.

positive: nice place on almost unreal green even during dry season as they sprinkle every day ! nice restaurant with outdoor seating area between banana-trees. Victoria the Manager is helpful and very friendly as all the staff are. clean toilets on top-level. electricity connection available. kitchen area for camper use incl fridge if needed. they organise taxi for 30K TSH roundtrip if you need shopping in town. it was indeed very helpful.

negativ: crusading church folks with loudspeakers within reach and noisy. we stayed 6 nights and about half of these days we felt disturbed in the evening as it is normally nice quiet at night.
we tried to negotiate the high price even for longstay but owner insisted on 30$/night for 2 of us which was a bit disappointing. no cool beer or soda available as fridges were turned off (according to staff) due to low guest occupancy. didnt understand this as they operate mostly on solarpower ...

Report Check-In

Camping here is $15pp, which is really expensive. HOWEVER this will be the best money you spend on camping in Moshi and possibly even Tanzania (which isn't well known for good camping!)
1 - the staff are absolutely delightful. Victoria gave us the warmest welcome and everyone is incredibly helpful and friendly.
2 - great ablutions, almost as if you're in a luxury lodge! Everything you need.
3 - Beautiful green grassy garden with shady trees, big fire boma, couches and places to relax and sit. Also have access to the lodge area and those communal areas which were lovely.
4 - powered site if you need, water tap to fill up, fridge you can use and a fantastic kitchen just for campers with sink etc that you can use to cook and do dishes.
5 - lovely rooftop terrace that you can have your drinks with a view of Kili if it's clear.
They also have a bar and restaurant, haven't tried that yet as just arrived but I'm sure it's good.

Honestly we just thought we'd give this place a shot due to the last review but didn't expect too much - it's definitely the best place we've come across. 10/10 recommend
