Quiet and very nice camping spot with nice view to Chimborazo... Free and no facilities.
You may be harassed by locals for money.

bello y tranquilo lugar, pase un par de días, me sentí segura y se duerme riquísimo. Cero ruidos.
Report Check-InLarge grass area behind the church and next to the lake, super quiet, safe and quiet, free! Great place to spend one night!
Great spot! Super quiet and hidden from the road. Lots of open flat grassy space for camping or parking. Sheep and donkeys around. The locals are friendly. No one tried to charge us.
Report Check-InWas a good place to spend the night. Pretty quiet, and just a few friendly locals and animals around. Claro signal works fine. Lagoon has lots of birds. Big grassy area for any size rig. A few local cars in the evening, but quiet over night.
Report Check-InStill nice and free. Some Fiesta with fireworks was noisy, people friendly, no one asked for money. In the morning nice view to the Chimborazo.
Report Check-InWe connected with as many locals that would talk to us and bought some stuff at the little supermarket. Everyone was OK with us staying here, and we felt safe.
Spent a quiet night, even though the traffic on the Panamericana is audible.
Report Check-InThis is flat and huge and tranquil (but for sheep, donkeys, pigs and dogs). We experienced the local man (Jose) asking for money. We gave him $2 and then watched as he bought cooking oil from the corner store and went home. He had claimed he was the area secretary and they were collecting donations to put up a sign. Said no receipts could be given until there was a sign. Well..... we popped into the corner store and asked to verify the story. Nope! The area secretary is Pedro. There is no fee for parking here. Jose is a fraud.
Well, we paid for his cooking oil and had a lovely night here. Everyone said hello and was friendly as they moved their animals through. If Jose approaches you, take him to the store and make it happen in front of the honest couple there. Or simply tell him no. Enjoy your evening here.
This is a nice spot with farm animals roaming around, but at night we were harassed by a local for money. We gave him $2 and felt safe, but this goes against all our principles! I wouldn't recommend staying here.
Report Check-InWonderful place by the lake, nice to watch birds and walk along the lake. A bit further away from the road so less street noise. Personal petting zoo at front step with donkeys, sheep and Llamas.
Report Check-InQuiet and very nice camping spot with nice view to Chimborazo... Free and no facilities.
