We have been travelling through South America for the last five years. UY has always been a good address for small or large repairs, exchanging experiences with other travellers. But also help with organisational matters. It really is one of the few addresses in South America that really offers support for travellers. Of course you have to make compromises with the European ADAC mentality, but we are outside our comfort zone where everything is available at all times. Where there are no customs and hardly any delivery times. And you have to expect that some things are more expensive than in Europe. But we are on an adventure trip and not all inclusive in Turkey! The fact is that the guys and the family at UY always try to find solutions. Even if there is no beer and bread. Always recommended!

As long-term travelers in South America, we have been parking our vehicle in a hall on the grounds of Felix and Timo's UY storage for around 10 years now when we fly to Germany for a few months every year. What can we say about our experience: It is a pleasant campsite to start a trip or just to relax for a few days. Camping with electricity connection, toilets and showers meet European standards, washing machine available (currently costs 15 USD per vehicle). Parking for a vehicle either outside or inside a hall (price per meter), possibility for minor service work on the vehicle, major repairs probably only with advance notice. Timo and Felix are very good mechanics, but also very busy. If you want to stay for a few days, you should already have enough food with you, as the nearest shopping facility is about 10 km away (in Soca). Overall conclusion: Recommended!!!

I have parked my mobile home here, no problems, no damage and a fair price. The place is guarded and very safe. Felix is a great mechanic, who keeps cool and systematic even if the customer is getting very nervous(me...). After spending 3 days on the salar de uyuni, my car developed numerous electrical problems. I visited two well known German workshops in Paraguay, they could not find the problem. Somehow I could keep on driving, but in Brasil on the way to Uruguay to ship my car back home, the generator did not charge the car battery any more. With some improvising I could keep on driving, one workshop told me the generator is broken, the next that the battery is damaged etc etc. This had to be repaired before shipment.... Monday morning Felix started checking methodically, generator was fine(....). After two hours of searching, the faults were all found and repaired, wednesday morning the 14th I could ship the car. Great work from Felix, imho he is the best mechanic you can find in South America.

We stored our truck with UY Storage last year for 9 month. Everything was okay, but here is nothing nearby.

This year we stored our camper with Rolf at Hotel Suizo. There we felt much more welcome and for us it is the better choice.

We stopped there two times and storaged our Crafter four motion Overlander for 6 and 2 months. The place is perfect with the sanatary facilitys, the washing machine, the options for electricity, the fireplace /quinco and the covered seating with the large dinning table. Felix is a very good professional mechanic with a very well equipped garage. He did the complete oil / brak / belt - interval service and did a great job for a fair price. We would leave our vehicle at this place anytime again because we got it always back in a good shape. And we will come back for any workmanship it needs. UY storage is a perfect place for all the work you have to do before and after stor your overlander.

We needed some substantial repairs to our MAN 4x4 after falling off a cattle barge in the Pantanal and a too-close experience with an earth-mover. Timo and Felix replaced the electric steps and fixed all the bodywork, for a very fair price. The quality of their work is excellent and they’ve been professional and helpful throughout. We’ve stored the truck with them numerous times over the past few years, they’ve carried out various mechanical jobs for us and we’ve always found them to be reliable and trustworthy. As an engineer I can fix most things myself, but these guys are an excellent resource to fall back on.

Our heating system was damaged and irreparable, Timo and Felix had a replacement at hand and installed everything within a day. They also took care of some other minor issues. Professional service, fair prices, and a very nice team, including the guard dogs Helmut and Frieda :-) The three brothers are very busy with a lot of work, but they agreed to help us on short notice because winter in Argentina and Uruguay without heating is no fun! Thanks, guys!

In March 2023 a Simmerring leaked at my rear axle and I drove to UY storage Canelones, Uruguay. During the inspection, F. realized that the Simmering had to be exchanged. The car was stored and I brought a new Simmering from Germany in mid-June. Now a close examination was made and it was established that the cause of this was damage to the ball bearing. This was detected already 10 minutes after the start of work. Then the remaining parts were ordered in Germany and I waited 8 days until they arrived and the import was done. Unnecessary waiting time and extra costs due to sloppy inspection in March.
There was an exchange of the ball bearing and the simmering. About 15000 km later the same damage again.
At Mercedes in Llanquihue they then removed everything again and found that a ring was installed upside down and everything had moved easily. About 1 cm was the groove which sat wrong around. As a result, the ball bearing, the gear and the housing had strong iron abrasion and had to be completely replaced. The Fa UY storage has declined liability upon request and sending the clear photos. On one photo it was clear that a ring was mounted incorrectly.
The whole has cost us 19 days time and the additional damage was 2400€ with all parts plus the time spent at UY storage and the cost of UY storage.

Our gel batteries for the camper were dying. The guys got new batteries for us, lithium-phosphate (stronger and less heavy), plus the necessary gear, did all the installations. Plus some mechanical check and repair. Fair prices, professional service, most friendly and helpful, perfect team. Highly recommended!

Clean sanitary block and washing machine available (something you usually don‘t find in Argentina).

You might be lucky and buy European gas bottles if they still have some. In our truck the American bottles don‘t fit, since they are slighly wider in diameter.

Prices $ 15 per night, $ 4 per load washing machine, $ 45 gas bottle.

Mit Abstand der beste Platz weit und breit. Die Flensburger Familie die den Platz betreibt bietet insbesondere für das Abstellen der Fahrzeuge alles was man sich wünscht. New Campingfacilitis with hot shower, toilet, sanidump, wifi, laundry with coins.the have a garage wer the fix things, if the are not abel to fix it, the have a lot of contacts and organizing the things.you can wash your car or the wash it for you(everything payd)sometimes the cook for the campers. Price for Camper and two person per night is 15 Dollar

We stored our Toyota Hilux camper here. We also stayed at their campsite. They have the best sanitary block we have seen in Uruguay, Argentina, Chili, Peru and Bolivia (we travelled for 6 months). We met the owner Felix. A very helpful guy. His brother cleaned the bottom of our car with a high pressure cleaner (paid service). This was necessary because we drove through salt water at the salt plain near Uyuni in Bolivia. Recommended.

Bathrooms and shower are done and work well. They’ve added a nice camper for those that need a break from the elements. Good people in nice country setting. Leaving my vehicle stored here while i return to the US.

RUM: Es ist ein sehr schöner neuer Campingplatz mit sauberen Toiletten und Duschen. Ver.-u. Entsorgung, Trinkwasser, Stromabrechnung über Zählerstand. Langzeitparken ist innerhalb u. außerhalb der Halle möglich.
Das Besondere ist aber,.....die Familie. Total hilfsbereit und liebenswert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Super friendly people, Only dogs on the ground for watching - no barking. The night was totaly quiet. I feel very comfortable to store my car there. The camping will be ready in 2 month, but toilets and showers are in a guesthouse. And there is a lot of space on their farm. Thanks

Very friendly family, perfect storing, no salty air! Very safe, car well-guarded, extra wishes (battery charge, ventilate occasionally and start engine, tire pressure test ...) perfectly fulfilled. Reliable at the airport again picked up, not overpriced. We come back!

Very quiet place. Nice guys, very friendly. Excellent water from well! Camping is also possible with landline(current). They have a garage for repairing all kinds of problems. Nice stay! See us for storage!
