About 1 mile off the road up a dirt track. A couple of spots by the base of the mine and another one about another 150 yards up the hill. I made it with a long wheelbase Transit in the rain. Well used fire pit didn’t use obviously because of the rain. Shortly after setting up I got visited by Burro’s.

Bumpy 1/2 mile but doable - high clearance might be helpful. A few sites up here, and very quiet - you can't hear the road noise at all. Burro mine was pretty fun - bring your flashlight but don't leave crap behind (we picked up trash while there).
Report Check-InAbout 1/2 mile off of hwy 190. We have a high clearance 2WD Sprinter and made it with no problem. Large area with room for about 3 vans. We arrived late afternoon with enough sun left to explore the area. The Burro Mine main entrance is still open and with a good flash light we were able to explore inside the mine. The tunnel is open for about 100 yards into the mountain. Pretty awesome! The sky was clear and we were treated to some pretty spectacular star gazing. Great spot, we would stay here again.
